I don't know if any bar or entity deserves a 5 star review but I've been to way too many bars and this one is...at a minimum, just way better than most others.

It's like that infamous Pitchfork review that described CYHSY as like every other cool-sounding indie rock band except a lot better -- yeah, that's kind of Monty.

it's true, this is possibly even more embarrassing than the posts themselves

I mean she either thought nobody would look at her reviews, or that people would look and think "wow, those are some good-ass reviews"

No it seems different; as far as I can tell she's not a professor at Yale. (She has a master's degree from Harvard, though! I'm sure Yale is telling itself that's the problem.)

Yelp kinda feels like a thing that's circling the drain in terms of cultishness maybe? it still exists as a repository for reviews but i feel like that whole elite shit peaked half a decade ago. maybe i'm wrong, i haven't done a deep dive on yelp in a long time.

It remains a useful first pass if you're in an unfamiliar place and hungry and want to know "which of the things I can see from here are awful?"

we should start a review site called Hello!pages which reviews places based on whether or not the employees greet you with a "Hello!" or not, grading them also on tone and sincerity, whether or not they make eye contact, etc.

Why not say hello first? Why ask how many when there are only three? Very confusing.

That doesn't seem all that far-fetched to me, tbh. Unless it's an anniversary or Valentine's Day date, my wife and I tend to do dinner with at least 3 other people when we go out, if not more. (We had two separate standing groups of 7 ppl who would do regular dinner dates every other month before we had kids.)
