Testament--C or D

I think The Gathering is their third best album but the shuffle tempo songs kinda aggravate me, as do the lack of the cool harmonized riffs I associated w/ them.

but I will never not love "D.N.R.".

it's interesting to me to think about why the later era Testament is good to my ears, but not like the classics or even The Gathering, and I think it's cos those older songs swung in a way the new ones don't. Testament were never the fastest, but they had their own tempo/feel w/ a touch of signature Bay Area thrash flavor.

I also think Low is the album Machine Head wishes they made.

new one is about the same level of quality as the last few. i will never not enjoy listening to these guys
