global tetrahedron, Monday, 3 April 2017 16:49 (seven years ago) link

'crowbar' and 'sidewise'... there's no way these are real bands

global tetrahedron, Monday, 3 April 2017 16:49 (seven years ago) link

areal o'hanlon used to be the compere on some bbc stand up show on saturday nights after motd in the 90s, even as a child easily amused by any sort of comedy i found him a bit bad and boring.

-_- (jim in vancouver), Monday, 3 April 2017 16:58 (seven years ago) link

xpost it's "Crobot" in this video

Crowbar are very real and very awesome

Neanderthal, Monday, 3 April 2017 16:58 (seven years ago) link

-_- (jim in vancouver), Monday, 3 April 2017 17:10 (seven years ago) link

xp Crowbar is dope.

billstevejim, Monday, 3 April 2017 22:08 (seven years ago) link

rock is pretty sad. rock is getting into listening to dixieland in the 50s or 60s territory.

scott seward, Monday, 3 April 2017 22:17 (seven years ago) link

i mean like rawk rock. though indie rock can be pretty sad too.

scott seward, Monday, 3 April 2017 22:18 (seven years ago) link

buckcherry play all these fests and they are "newer" than people like sammy hagar obviously but the lead singer of buckcherry is pushing 50. rock = older than the hills.

scott seward, Monday, 3 April 2017 22:20 (seven years ago) link

rockfest - first I was thinking 'yeah I can see this being popular' but by the end I was like 'yeah no that's ludicrous'

Lennon, Elvis, Hendrix etc (dog latin), Monday, 3 April 2017 22:32 (seven years ago) link

i like alternate universe festivals though where i don't know who anyone is

lol other countries

(±\ PLO;;;;;;; Style (sic), Monday, 3 April 2017 23:57 (seven years ago) link

other countries are totally alternate universes to me!

scott seward, Tuesday, 4 April 2017 00:29 (seven years ago) link

i mean they might as well be. i only read about them and see pictures of them during the newsreels before my westerns and gangster movies.

scott seward, Tuesday, 4 April 2017 00:30 (seven years ago) link

i still listen to feedtime a lot anyway...

scott seward, Tuesday, 4 April 2017 00:43 (seven years ago) link

i listened to the go-betweens last week....

it had never EVER occurred to me how much this song sounds like an echo & the bunnymen song until last week. how did i miss that after all this time? could totally be an echo b-side.

Saw this advertised in the paper today. Aside from the headliners, bits of Saturday are salvageable, but not Sunday.

three weeks pass...

Now.

I'm not saying this is the worst festival, right?

Because this is the "Worst festival lineup" thread. Which is a different thing.

so:

Bluesfest returns to The O2 with
some of the world’s leading
blues-inspired artists. Chic feat
Nile Rodgers headline the Friday
night and Daryl Hall & John Oates plus very special guest Chris Isaak will play the Saturday.3

Now.

YGM?

Mark G, Tuesday, 11 July 2017 11:08 (six years ago) link

every artist on that list rules. Steely Dan and Doobie Brothers are also playing. RULES.

jamiesummerz, Tuesday, 11 July 2017 11:47 (six years ago) link

As I say.

But: Bluesfest?

Mark G, Tuesday, 11 July 2017 11:48 (six years ago) link
