A poll just seven months ago? Ugh, apologies... Search let me down.

The Air Force flies high above the rest.

They mostly lost me with La Foret and I've only checked in sporadically since. Someone needs to make a mix of best tracks because there's a ton of half-assed stuff in there with the good things.

Will be seeing them live for the first time in a few months though

I'm seeing them in a couple weeks, first time w/ a band. Jamie only Xiu Xiu show I saw in 2012 was devastating. Can't wait

Been listening to my gf's old cd of Women as Lovers on the bathroom boombox lately and that one is fantastic, some real gems. I wouldn't say the new one is their best album or anything, but some of the tracks (Get Up, Petite) are all time. Somebody should definitely make the ultimate Xiu Xiu mix.

Get Up is definitely an instant Xiu Xiu classic, i'd add Wondering as well.

Considering this is a project that gets criticized for over-treading the same ground lyrically-- a worthwhile criticism-- tho the same crit that could be levelled at John Waters or any other artist who leaps out of the kennel into the garden of transgressive art and has to continue to wait for new modern prejudices to grow and blossom before shitting on them-- my ears find this band extremely diverse from a compositional and production perspective. I can't really pick a single album.

It is interesting to me that Fabulous Muscles and La Foret which disappointed me so much production-wise would be followed by The Air Force and Angel Guts which are two of the best-sounding albums I've ever heard

Nina is way underrated, Twin Peaks is impossible to overrate because it attempts the impossible and succeeds
