u inspired me to play romance is boring again. it has really been growing on me and the show was (maybe unsurprisingly) full of so much life + vigor compared to the album that it really made me appreciate them a lot more.

We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed is probably their most emo album tbh. Relistened to it today and was floored by it all over again, but I also notice how much it plays like those first two Taking Back Sunday records. Same explosive, pun-based bitterness

god relationship of command is the most overrated record. Vaya (#100 in this poll) is SO MUCH BETTA!!!

i'll take a crack at it! realizing so many of my answers are based on "what i put on a mixtape and/or what i had put on a mixtape for me", which is the most perfect method for picking i guess anyway

DIARY: so difficult to pick. in circles was my first thought, but pheurton skeurto and seven are both great. also i have a special place in my heart for 8, which was my introduction to SDRE, because i... won a cassette of the batman forever soundtrack when i was a child and it was on there?! yeah fuck it, i pick "8" even though it was really just on the LP and added to the expanded diary later. in circles if you're pedantic
REL'P OF CMD: hard to argue that anything other than one armed scissor is the pick here (but i mostly only ever listened to that song vs the album)
NOTHING FEELS GOOD: listened to it many times but never really looked at the track listing
E&I: same
HOW IT FEELS: I was never as in to this one, so idk! looking at the trck listing and nothing is jumping out at me. i sohuld spend some time with it

BLEED AMERICAN: sweetness is so stupid and perfect. it transcends. but the title track is also an all-timer. (imo the middle is kinda overrated)
MEADOWLANDS: for me it's gotta be Happy, but this boy is exhausted definitely up there too
ANAL(...)OGY: i must have listened to their cover of take on me a million times, it's hard not to pick for me even though it's a bad pick
JUNO: not familiar enough
CLARITY: max sad: lucky denver mint. noisy pick: title track
J2BRAZIL: weird... i had a song in my head but it's not on this album, and now i can't find it anywhere. did i imagine it? i must be thinking of another band. was there another emo band that maybe had the word jets in a song title? oof im 100% lost on this one
