I saw this thread and figured "oh well this will last about an hour, how many drawings and paintings of paul weller can there be out there?"

turns out...like....an infinite amount apparently? what the hell

i think he's like CCR is for americans, i don't know if a brit can truly get what CCR means and maybe an american can never truly get what paul weller means? i dunno something like that

that said, it's not the same thing really, CCR is iconic yet faceless in a weird way, i bet fogerty can walk down the street and not get noticed in a lot of places, but CCR's music itself and the band itself is ubiquitous, but the dudes themselves always remained a bit obscure

whereas i take it by these paintings that weller is a jesus-like figure or something to a certain set of mods

perhaps only Morrissey could yield similar riches

i am unsurprised by this marvellous, heartwarming flood but have not yet identified the specific reasons for it (beyond the above)

Weller has always had a large audience here. The Jam were huge on a national level, and I think every single one of his solo albums has went Top 10.
