Pugwash?

These guys have quietly released good albums for the past couple decades. They seem to have a fanbase, though I'm not sure who the fanbase is, because their last couple albums have quickly been crowdfunded. They were signed to Andy Partridge's label for a spell. Dave Gregory's arranged their stuff. Jeff Lynne and Ray Davies even popped up on their last album. This fella Thomas Walsh seems to be pretty well liked.

Does ILM like Pugwash? I like Pugwash.

that band name is not doing them any favors

That's what kept me from listening to them for years despite recommendations from trusted friends.

Thomas from Pugwash was the other half of the Duckworth Lewis Method, which seems to be pretty reviled around here.

Their fanbase is dudes that like XTC

I'm a big power pop guy but have always found these guys boring.

Y'know, they are kind of boring, but they're comfortably boring. I like it.

I had a listen to The Duckworth Lewis Method out of curiosity. Yeah, horrible.

Never heard of these guys but I visited Pugwash, Nova Scotia in summer '80.
