So this is weird: For years the Milwaukee Brewers used "Lemon Yellow Black" as the song they played during the between innings grounds crew cleanup at Miller Park at every game. Now I can't hear that riff without thinking of Prince Fielder and summer and plastic cups of cold domestic beer.

My makeout story is about 'Edge of the Deep Green Sea', so maybe next time.

I rode with a bunch of friends through a blizzard to Lancaster, PA to try to see JTB. The ride took several hours longer than anticipated, and we got to the club just as the front doors were opening and people began filing out, singing "Sweet Avenue" as they strolled past us.

xp Damn, that's a lineup! Yeah, I think there was some fluky thing where two tours crossed paths are were put onto one bill ($6! at a pretty big club). I couldn't even drive yet, but I can't imagine what the older Fugazi fans must have though. Emo was pretty derided in punk circles here around that time (lots of bad jokes about Tickle Me Emo dolls and shit), and the city had kind of a conflicted relationship with The Promise Ring back then

Also Compound Red's record would have been my ballot/nomination. Feel like they're mostly forgotten. But there's a SDRE vibe to them, maybe Fireside (from what I remember, haven't listened to Fireside inawhile)

true story: i wrote an email to Jim Adkins asking him if "goodbye sky harbor" was about A Prayer for Owen Meany bc it was my favorite book and he replied about a month later thanking me for writing and confirmed that yes it was about A Prayer for Owen Meany and it was his favorite book too

i know this is the masterpiece but i still like static prevails and bleed american better

I don't mind Bleed American tbh, although "Sweetness" is the real standout.

I have a stronger emotional connection to TITWIGAGAG but I think I now agree with the apparent consensus that this is the better album, they seem to have just pushed right up to every limit

I voted for the other Juno album based on one listen. I couldn't find all of this one.

I can't take all the credit but this is definitely my most substantive contribution to ILM, and indeed perhaps life itself

I only listened to the other one and voted for it. Excited to check this out soon.
