i love that oracy track - that was always one of my faves of his.

this is a bit cheesy maybe, having said that i prob get goosebumps if i listen to it in full. it used to absolutely slay in a club.

There's a touch of recognition here, the record it samples is obvious and I'm sure I have it but it escapes me like money escapes my pocket

This has been one of my favourites for a long time but I could never remember it or find it in my collection, it was jus a memory (and of course its played in lots of mixes)

Then i realized i never owned it and didn't even know what it was. Maybe i did once! Lets never forget again

Another villager! I thought they had closed the old coach road.

Nice record, I didn't know this one. Disagree about the vocal but its not too intrusive:)

saer, Thursday, 27 April 2017 16:06 (six years ago) link

now if mr. booker t had included even one more lick of the vocal, i'd be with you there. but i like the stab-in-get-out on this one. not too intrusive as you say.

andrew m., Thursday, 27 April 2017 21:55 (six years ago) link

big fan of that Booker T remix but I prefer it as a vocal number. It's so shameless and I love the interplay between those sinister bleeps and the generic vocal. It's on this compilation which is my favourite snapshot of UK garage at its peak.

I was really into Exist Dance in college, loved the original three Tranquility Bass "ambient" tracks (Cantamilla, Mya Yadana and They Come in Peace)

put psychic dreaming on this mix:

dan selzer, Saturday, 29 April 2017 03:53 (six years ago) link

thanks dan i will have a listen of that

10 High Lonesome Sound System, “Psychic Dreaming”
11 Janet Jackson, “Miss You Much (Oh I Like That Mix)”

love the following record too, interested for that transition:)

Ability II - Pressure (Dub) - this was recently reissued with a Luca Lozano remix but the original dub is the stand-out for me. It's so obviously a rip-off of "LFO" but those delayed vocal snatches really make it.
