Oh the humanity!

calzino, Monday, 20 February 2017 22:20 (seven years ago) link

C C was on Look north earlier. I appreciate he has had his problems, but the fucker could bore his way throughout purgatory/all the way to China.

calzino, Monday, 20 February 2017 22:46 (seven years ago) link

i begrudge no man his schadenfreude.

meet the new bunch of gutless mercenaries, same as the old &c

watching us getting pwned 3-0 by Brentford while in the company of a Brentford fan (with Hogan sitting in the stands days before making his move) is right up there with any of our recent history in the humiliation stakes

it's fine though guys, why would you want people who know football when you can just get in people who know the division? right? guys?

Windsor Davies, Monday, 20 February 2017 23:47 (seven years ago) link

yeah i'm not sure benitez will ever know the division tbh

imago, Monday, 20 February 2017 23:54 (seven years ago) link

rafa's a bit different to like tigana or vialli or whatever in that u get the sense he's quite intrigued by its unknowability. he's on a restorative academic safari

“It is good,” said the United boss. “Everybody thinks it is long ball, second ball football. This is not the way it is. It is quite interesting for a manager because you have to adapt to a number of styles of football.”

goodnight sweet mince

nxd, Tuesday, 21 February 2017 16:14 (seven years ago) link

nxd, Tuesday, 21 February 2017 16:15 (seven years ago) link

despite the penalty debacle, we recovered and look like we will be causing much sustained angst to the top 2 till the death!

calzino, Tuesday, 21 February 2017 22:45 (seven years ago) link

inbred, doomed?

r|t|c, Friday, 24 February 2017 14:53 (seven years ago) link

bingo

Treesh-Hurt (Noodle Vague), Friday, 24 February 2017 14:54 (seven years ago) link

don't even. my theory at this stage is that 95% of the squad are shit

Treesh-Hurt (Noodle Vague), Friday, 24 February 2017 21:50 (seven years ago) link

At least we can get back to hating the deluded big-club bastards!

calzino, Friday, 24 February 2017 22:17 (seven years ago) link

I am a deluded bcb

Treesh-Hurt (Noodle Vague), Friday, 24 February 2017 22:19 (seven years ago) link

well, so am I sometimes. But I've hated them since about the days Claridge was playing for them. And in recent years while they were on their arse but improving with a good manager - it almost seemed impolite to hate them.

calzino, Friday, 24 February 2017 22:30 (seven years ago) link

it is fairly impolite to not hate them tbh

imago, Friday, 24 February 2017 22:32 (seven years ago) link

I'll never forget those Bluenose twats singing "We'll Meet Again" when we got relegated on the last day in '01.

calzino, Friday, 24 February 2017 23:09 (seven years ago) link

They are the dregs tbf

Treesh-Hurt (Noodle Vague), Friday, 24 February 2017 23:24 (seven years ago) link

I was actually working in a bookies on Leeds Rd in a small building that is now Dixons ice cream parlour on the day that relegation happened. But through the power of fake memory I was there that day!

calzino, Friday, 24 February 2017 23:26 (seven years ago) link

pile of shit this game

r|t|c, Saturday, 25 February 2017 14:10 (seven years ago) link

no jinx but liking these scores at the top

r|t|c, Saturday, 25 February 2017 15:26 (seven years ago) link

that current unreality top three is an absolute buzz! It will look better after we have given the magpies another football lesson at our place soon. The last time we played them in the league the crowd was swelled by daytrippers wanting to see a permed Keegan who didn't play, some mad Geordie climbed a floodlight, they invaded every stand. This one will be different though, just another sucker champo side!

calzino, Saturday, 25 February 2017 16:07 (seven years ago) link

Uncle Neil is on fire right now as well, could see Cardiff as the late playoff crashers.

calzino, Saturday, 25 February 2017 16:19 (seven years ago) link

ffs I jinxed it good there

calzino, Saturday, 25 February 2017 16:45 (seven years ago) link

His name is Colin.

At our game today the ref blew for full time as a ball was crossed into a crowded box. I know he can do that but I've never seen it happen before.

Tim, Saturday, 25 February 2017 17:40 (seven years ago) link

don't know if you've ever heard of this but here's Clive Thomas with some beautiful trolling during the 78 World Cup

Treesh-Hurt (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 25 February 2017 17:44 (seven years ago) link

I can't get into that Colin thing at all, he's a revered childhood early adulthood hero for me.

calzino, Saturday, 25 February 2017 17:47 (seven years ago) link

Yeah I do remember that Clive Thomas thing but it caused such a furor I thought it was convention that they didn't do that.

Colin's just nasty green mould to me.

Tim, Saturday, 25 February 2017 17:50 (seven years ago) link

Just seeing his big 'ol smiley face is like a bridge to happier times for me, this feeling is not influenced by reality at all. The fucker even turned us down when allegedly the chairman offered him a fat salary and he subsequently went to Leeds for less - but still he seems like family! It might be significant to share this if I ever go to a therapist.

both top of the league deciders going nukey's way via clownery

what money gets u i suppose

r|t|c, Saturday, 4 March 2017 18:06 (seven years ago) link

Scenes today, we score an 87th minute 'winner'.

One of our fans goes in the pitch and laughs in their keeper's face and their back 4 jump in the crowd and start punching their way through the rest of our fans. The ref then asks their captain if he feels safe enough to continue in light of our violence and he says no which results in the match being abandoned.

This was a game with two red cards and our manager sent to sit in the dressing room (because there isn't a stand to be sent to) and 5 other yellow cards in a game without a single malicious tackle.

Mud... Jam... Failure... (aldo), Saturday, 4 March 2017 18:20 (seven years ago) link

"because there isn't a stand to be sent to"
sounds like a real football ground does that, I like it!

clownery and shit biased ref aside, I still feel like Town might get something out of this game. Ward won't be in a rush to see that replay, I get the feeling there might be a goalkeeper substitution coming up.

calzino, Saturday, 4 March 2017 18:33 (seven years ago) link

Not a total disaster, no more silly fucking cup adventures and a fading Brighton with a far tougher runout says 2nd spot is still very doable. We were the far better side in the second half, if lacking some vital incision at times - but we had the champions elect on the back foot for an hour.

calzino, Saturday, 4 March 2017 19:38 (seven years ago) link

computer says yes, manager says no.

calzino, Tuesday, 7 March 2017 14:05 (seven years ago) link

surely Lambert could have had a quiet word with him.

calzino, Tuesday, 7 March 2017 14:07 (seven years ago) link

I thought he'd gone back to United in January tbh

barry snappleton (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 7 March 2017 14:13 (seven years ago) link

maybe the player rating computer has bias towards Man Utd players but I'm pretty sure the 2 loanees we have from Chelsea are probably going further than this kid.

omg Slade sacked again, getting sacked twice by February is pretty good going.

calzino, Tuesday, 7 March 2017 14:15 (seven years ago) link

he had a good run

nxd, Tuesday, 7 March 2017 14:20 (seven years ago) link

so Bobbins has gone back to you, he is a serial quitter is that guy.
