totally happy to see a non-dick club having a great season as i peer thru the bars of the Karma Hotel

excitable Question Time guest (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 11 February 2017 22:05 (seven years ago) link

Wagner seems destined for bigger things right now, but it doesn't seem that long ago that a flying Warburton at Brentford had similar prestige, but it can all go wrong so relatively fast!

calzino, Saturday, 11 February 2017 22:17 (seven years ago) link

not to be dramatic but leeds hudds 2 leg playoff semi rematch is world football's only remaining hope

this mike flynn dude really reminds me of tony mowbray

otm

imago, Tuesday, 14 February 2017 17:21 (seven years ago) link

hah! squint your eyes and they could be twins. Although I could imagine Mowbray as a Clerk of Works/site manager type of grunt wiv Baz written on the back of his viz-vest, but definitely not a General.

I was talking to an old betting shop manager pal the other day. He says this incongruously glam looking lass comes into his shop with 10 minutes to kill and asks him how to put on a football bet. So she just picks 7 random teams off the coupon and puts on a £2.50 acc and they all win and she has £500+ to collect. One of his regular nosy punters who is watching him pay her out says afterwards: "The tight fucker could have at least tipped you a fiver!" and then says her husband is x player at QPR.

Anyway she has inspired me to use a random number generator to pick my games tonight and pick win, lose or draw for my acc. The random number generator came up with Wednesday, Wolves, L**ds wins and Norwich and Candy Crush Fc draws

Just watched the death of Barca and meanwhile we're stepping up our relegation bid. Guess who's going to the Mol on Saturday btw. Fffs

Treesh-Hurt (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 14 February 2017 22:03 (seven years ago) link

I'd be tempted to watch us put a nail in Pep, but since some tin-pot wanker at the club marketing dept put out a half Man City/Town scarf in the shop - i actually want Town to lose this fucking game.

calzino, Tuesday, 14 February 2017 22:15 (seven years ago) link

My brother has a spare apparently and I'm down there to see my mom so good times but we are incapable of scoring right now so nobody make any daft bets imo

Treesh-Hurt (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 14 February 2017 22:36 (seven years ago) link

Lee Clark has left Kilmarnock to take over at Bury, apparently the Bury chairman is a town fan - so he ought to know better really.

"The Directors have given me their full support in rebuilding the squad and the fans will always have a special place in my heart but I still have huge ambition to one day manage at the highest level in England, which is obviously the Premier League, and I feel that the fresh challenge of managing a club in England's League One could provide me with the platform to build towards this goal."

Lol! yeah i've got dreams to be an aeroplane pilot when I grow up.

calzino, Wednesday, 15 February 2017 15:38 (seven years ago) link

10 wins in 44 games, aye I bet the fucking Kilmarnock fans will be inconsolable.

not very happy tbh but it's not like the b-list lion isn't gonna maul us

Treesh-Hurt (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 18 February 2017 15:39 (seven years ago) link

No results found for "a Craig is Noone".

amateurs

r|t|c, Saturday, 18 February 2017 16:20 (seven years ago) link

not to sound like an ungrateful prick but innit funny how a 3-0 away win somehow feels better than a 4-1 away win?

anyway bloody hell zola

r|t|c, Saturday, 18 February 2017 17:07 (seven years ago) link

kind of gutted at missing their Costa in the flesh

Treesh-Hurt (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 18 February 2017 19:20 (seven years ago) link

classic lol at caulker being shamed by adulterous hacked instagram screenshots in which the object of his affections writes "Hard for me to resist tonight but I think you were a little drunk haha. Didn't want you to regret anything!"

r|t|c, Sunday, 19 February 2017 12:22 (seven years ago) link

the pisshead loserness of clarke carlisle, the gross exorbitance of chrissy samba, the rank ineptitude of karl ready. he just gets us, yknow?

r|t|c, Sunday, 19 February 2017 12:25 (seven years ago) link

sky comms resorting to recapping bruce's career as his side receive a leisurely routine dicking. "you wonder why the opportunity at a club of this stature hasn't come earlier..."

r|t|c, Monday, 20 February 2017 21:44 (seven years ago) link

trying to imagine what it would be like to have a season where you've spent as much as half the league combined, and your manager is rafa benitez

imago, Monday, 20 February 2017 21:46 (seven years ago) link

aaaaand scott hogan's ankle's just gone

C C was on Look north earlier. I appreciate he has had his problems, but the fucker could bore his way throughout purgatory/all the way to China.

calzino, Monday, 20 February 2017 22:46 (seven years ago) link

i begrudge no man his schadenfreude.

meet the new bunch of gutless mercenaries, same as the old &c

watching us getting pwned 3-0 by Brentford while in the company of a Brentford fan (with Hogan sitting in the stands days before making his move) is right up there with any of our recent history in the humiliation stakes

it's fine though guys, why would you want people who know football when you can just get in people who know the division? right? guys?

Windsor Davies, Monday, 20 February 2017 23:47 (seven years ago) link

yeah i'm not sure benitez will ever know the division tbh

imago, Monday, 20 February 2017 23:54 (seven years ago) link

rafa's a bit different to like tigana or vialli or whatever in that u get the sense he's quite intrigued by its unknowability. he's on a restorative academic safari

r|t|c, Tuesday, 21 February 2017 07:19 (seven years ago) link

“It is good,” said the United boss. “Everybody thinks it is long ball, second ball football. This is not the way it is. It is quite interesting for a manager because you have to adapt to a number of styles of football.”

goodnight sweet mince

nxd, Tuesday, 21 February 2017 16:15 (seven years ago) link

despite the penalty debacle, we recovered and look like we will be causing much sustained angst to the top 2 till the death!

calzino, Tuesday, 21 February 2017 22:45 (seven years ago) link

bingo

Treesh-Hurt (Noodle Vague), Friday, 24 February 2017 14:54 (seven years ago) link

don't even. my theory at this stage is that 95% of the squad are shit

Treesh-Hurt (Noodle Vague), Friday, 24 February 2017 21:50 (seven years ago) link

At least we can get back to hating the deluded big-club bastards!

calzino, Friday, 24 February 2017 22:17 (seven years ago) link

I am a deluded bcb

Treesh-Hurt (Noodle Vague), Friday, 24 February 2017 22:19 (seven years ago) link

well, so am I sometimes. But I've hated them since about the days Claridge was playing for them. And in recent years while they were on their arse but improving with a good manager - it almost seemed impolite to hate them.

calzino, Friday, 24 February 2017 22:30 (seven years ago) link

it is fairly impolite to not hate them tbh

imago, Friday, 24 February 2017 22:32 (seven years ago) link

I'll never forget those Bluenose twats singing "We'll Meet Again" when we got relegated on the last day in '01.

calzino, Friday, 24 February 2017 23:09 (seven years ago) link

They are the dregs tbf

Treesh-Hurt (Noodle Vague), Friday, 24 February 2017 23:24 (seven years ago) link

I was actually working in a bookies on Leeds Rd in a small building that is now Dixons ice cream parlour on the day that relegation happened. But through the power of fake memory I was there that day!

calzino, Friday, 24 February 2017 23:26 (seven years ago) link

pile of shit this game

r|t|c, Saturday, 25 February 2017 14:10 (seven years ago) link

no jinx but liking these scores at the top

r|t|c, Saturday, 25 February 2017 15:26 (seven years ago) link

that current unreality top three is an absolute buzz! It will look better after we have given the magpies another football lesson at our place soon. The last time we played them in the league the crowd was swelled by daytrippers wanting to see a permed Keegan who didn't play, some mad Geordie climbed a floodlight, they invaded every stand. This one will be different though, just another sucker champo side!

calzino, Saturday, 25 February 2017 16:07 (seven years ago) link

Uncle Neil is on fire right now as well, could see Cardiff as the late playoff crashers.

calzino, Saturday, 25 February 2017 16:19 (seven years ago) link

ffs I jinxed it good there
