So excited for this!! Her last record was my favorite new release for that year.

Title and artist shouldn't be in the same weight font, positions should be flipped. Fake ringwear is dated. Cool photo thought.

As with the last album, I found this mostly solid, if a bit uneven. Appreciate the nods to her idols: "Mama I Tried" and "Cheer Up Little Darlin" are bright spots. Love how she threads a needle between the two other Annies.

It's hard to take the Yelawolf collab seriously. In general it rubs me the wrong way when 'under-the-radar' artists gripe about how things just aren't what they used to be. Worse, it's a gripe in search of a song.

Interested to see what the rest of you think, as AMC got much more love here than I was expecting.

I like the closer.

I've listened to this 3 or 4 times since i bought it on LP yesterday. it's really, really good. it's a grower, like AMC (which i underrated back when it came out; i liked it then, but now i love it.)

I feel bad now about dumping on the cover because it turns out someone I know designed it. Also, another friend is her pedal steel player on tour.

I still think the album's only okay-ish, though.

i'd tell you fellas to give it more time but ymmv regardless. AMC was one that sneaked up on me after more than a few listens. i hope to catch her when (if?) she comes through L.A...as per usual, we don't get many country shows here, at least from the less-than-major Nashville acts.

i think this one probably the "least" of the recent run of spectacular solo albums from the Annies but i think they're all very good to masterpieces. i'd probably rank them

this is a very strange opinion to me - the title track alone is more overtly politicised than anything else the Pistol Annies et al have done, and the way she picks through her ambivalence on "Better Off Red" is kind of masterful

I love wrangled very much, love how "Dreams Don't Come True" is a total inversion of the ubiquitous inspirational pop song, "Only Blood" and the title track are incredible ballads, I love how scabrous she is.
