I'm just a hobbyist but printing from the iMac to my Epson has always been pretty good w/ soft proofing, even w/o profiling the iMac screen (which I keep meaning to do since the profiler setups are rentable now)

You can buy the cheapest colormunki or even the xrite eye1 display for not too much money. For the printer if you want to beyond canned profiles, there are services that send you a file and instructions on how to print it, the you send it back to them and they supply you with the icc profile if that specific combo of paper and your printer.

Though I'd go for colormunki display over smile.

I have fond memories of working with a graphic designer-turned-web developer. His office was next to the plotter people used for posters, and at least once he walked by to notice some wrong-colored abomination, emailed whoever printed it, and did color correction for them.

What's the nicer bit of kit - the iPhone 6s or the SE? I have a 5c now and like the size but could contemplate going up although I'm short and have quite small hands.

6 screen space is appreciable but you lose the small form factor of the 5.

Yeah I think I agree. The 5c is my favourite iPhone I've owned. And I e said before that I think it's the best looking iPhone they ever made, but its on its last legs.

Agree that 5s and SE look and feel best but once you go to larger screen it's hard to imagine going back. The pluses are a step too far for me but the 6 is good for my failing eyes.

ya this is the problem i'm running into now, my boyfriend has a 6S+ and it's definitely too big, but then going back to using my phone whenever I use his feels definitely too small

agree. as long as they continue to make a phone that size i will continue to buy it

5c is a nice looking phone imo

I was thisclose to getting some airpods other day but I talked myself off the ledge by remembering that the only reason I was allowing myself to think about it waas because a .02c rubber tip had come off my perfectly serviceable earbuds. I AM sick of untangling them though. and the amplified wire bumps and jiggles are awful.

I got the Power Beats 3. They're great.

Yeah, that's what I meant too -- the screen is worse than the Air 2, and it's fractionally thicker. Don't know about memory specs either, wouldn't be beyond them to scrimp on that. There's always a shoe to drop with Apple these days

new iPad screen seems to be the same features as iPad Air 1, so in practice, pretty much the same as all the other retina screens.

If was just a name. A confusing one. There's now iPad Pro, iPad (not air) and iPad mini. The iPad Pro comes in two sizes though, so I suppose there are 4 really.

Yes there was no consistency, at least now it's fairly clear what each machine is for.

I like my iPad Air 2 a lot, although when I'm not actually using it I do tend to think about how I really preferred the form factor of my old iPad Mini and I think I could be happier with the iPad Pro that's the exact same size but has the better speakers and processor etc. I'm disloyal.

So basically just buy whichever but just know that you'll still die wondering
