whats up with quietus's #1 Årabrot - The Gospel? track 3 almost sounds like 90s alternative grunge metal

Arabrot is a headscratch record... feels like a contrarian statement to have that one on 1 but hey the rest of the list is good and at last I see an indie-focused list without that painfully average Car Head Seatrest album.

<3 Doran and the gang but this happened with Grumbling Fur a few years ago and appears to be based largely on friendship with the band in question. Which is probably fine, these bands often require a boost, although I've not liked either record myself.

That Grumbling Fur album was great though.

I couldn't get in to that Bees album. Think someone on the Spiritualized thread said something along the lines of it being the best thing Jason Pierce had been involved in and whilst it was nice enough, it was nothing that I particularly wanted to listen to repeatedly.

Recall last year the (arguably) best list was Cosmopolitan, (not arguably) worst was Radio X, will see if that holds up this year.

That treblezind might be the most uninspired list of best songs I've seen so far. They should've added a one song restriction per artist.

is there anybody outside, like, this board who has heard of more than 25 of those artists? not trying to be sarcastic here, i'm a little sheltered and maybe there are parties you can go to where people will say "Oh yeah, 'Boy' by Boyboy, I love that one!" without lying through their teeth.

for the record i listened to "boy" by boyboy and i did actually like it a lot, but i'll be fucked if i'm going to listen to 99 more bands playing at the walpurgisnacht rock festival in the illuminatus! trilogy.
