So, I've been working on this thing for a while now, and am trying to get it out there this week. The idea is that I will make a mix of music and other sounds for every year from 1860 up to the present. This week I've put up mixes for 2016 and 1860 and I'll be working through the years, putting a mix up on the second Monday of every month, from now until a long time in the future (it's going to take a few years to even get to the jazz age, so it may be a bit of a slow-burner.) Anyway, hope people on here can enjoy it - think I'm going to need help when I get to the 1920s as having a complete overview of a year in culture will start to be impossible right around then.

i pumped out 4 hours of top 40 and throwbacks at a gay bar today. i didn't know half the tracks lol but it was a lot of fun and it went surprisingly well. and i got to play "crush on you" by the jets and whitney's "i wanna dance with somebody" and shania twain's "man! i feel like a woman!" two months ago i had literally never heard a katy perry track before and today i'm watching a roomful of twenty-somethings bop along to "firework" and grinning like a fucking moron. katy perry is good, you heard it here first.
