"used to clean the seats with his dad while he was at villa park"
"should have just used a cloth"

actual chuckles at commentary banter, is this what my life's come to

Town haven't had this much of an arsekicking at CC since the Louis Saha days, it might be double figures by ft!

calzino, Saturday, 29 October 2016 15:25 (seven years ago) link

just ftr, the forces of lee novak and ched evans came together in mortal combat today, and lee novak prevailed

imago, Saturday, 29 October 2016 16:15 (seven years ago) link

yay! Shit player, but at least not repugnant slime on legs.

calzino, Saturday, 29 October 2016 16:21 (seven years ago) link

he wasn't actually bad in his first couple of seasons, but once the heroic workrate dropped off it became apparent he wasn't really top L1 standard.

calzino, Saturday, 29 October 2016 16:25 (seven years ago) link

it was actually quite a classy header

two minutes later he scuffed one wide unmarked from 15 yards though, just to prove it was really him

think he might be useful when fed on a pure diet of crosses

imago, Saturday, 29 October 2016 16:34 (seven years ago) link

also jesus, 3rd and 4th in the ch'ship both losing 5-0 :O

imago, Saturday, 29 October 2016 16:37 (seven years ago) link

It doesn't matter, we are in a fake position and have now been exposed as the one dimensional poundshop gen-gen crap that can't defend set-pieces for shit:p

calzino, Saturday, 29 October 2016 16:40 (seven years ago) link

or you just suffered fulham's twice-a-season pounding, it's magical when it happens, you have to hope it's not to you

imago, Saturday, 29 October 2016 16:45 (seven years ago) link

dammit people assured me that billionaire Chinese investors would mean instant success

nom de grrrrr (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 29 October 2016 17:04 (seven years ago) link

I wish some of our fans would realise we are still in the top 4, with a bottom 4 budget ffs!

Dave Fucking Edwards

nom de grrrrr (Noodle Vague), Monday, 31 October 2016 13:02 (seven years ago) link

I mean rather Sherwood than Pearson but no please no

nom de grrrrr (Noodle Vague), Monday, 31 October 2016 13:03 (seven years ago) link

In fact basically Lambert is the least depressing candidate so

nom de grrrrr (Noodle Vague), Monday, 31 October 2016 13:04 (seven years ago) link

blimey you really are doing the briatore route. worst possible shortlist, my condolences

r|t|c, Monday, 31 October 2016 13:15 (seven years ago) link

really did think this would be a straight choice between sam and silva

r|t|c, Monday, 31 October 2016 13:16 (seven years ago) link

meanwhile i seem to be the only qpr supporter alive who isn't going diabolical batshit foaming postal at jfh. i mean he's not doing great but... what is the rush, why everybody gotta be so FUCKING FURIOUS all the time. it is almost as if society is in some sort of low area at the side of a road that is used to catch water and carry it away

r|t|c, Monday, 31 October 2016 13:29 (seven years ago) link

Yeah I don't expect success tomorrow I would just like watchable football and a non-sociopathic manager and assume with patience and some mine invested things will improve over time. Modern football fan culture is poison

nom de grrrrr (Noodle Vague), Monday, 31 October 2016 14:35 (seven years ago) link

Money invested

nom de grrrrr (Noodle Vague), Monday, 31 October 2016 14:36 (seven years ago) link

Oh god Sherwood is on the move again. Just turn the lights out, duck down and pretend your out.

In a perfect world it'll poison itself and the bottom will drop out of football, but really it's just embitterment and macho posturing from here on out

"I like to look at it up close and imagine he has jaundice."

It seems like most of the Whites still want him to die, despite him not sacking anyone or doing anything remotely controversial for months. Oh yeah the Champions of Europe have some new billionaires lined up or something, the real deal this time.

Some good work there, it sort of captures his essence more than his likeness though.

calzino, Monday, 31 October 2016 16:21 (seven years ago) link

cranky on the E&S again, looking forward to some light-hearted banter:

"God what a shower, again. If we must have a British manager with experience of the Championship (which basically means "experience of not being able to cut it in the Premier League") then Lambert is the most professional and the most likely to develop a functioning team ethos over time. Personally I don't think I want to be associated with a club run by Nigel Pearson, but it's interesting to see that some fans don't think that standards of workplace conduct should apply in football. I assume Sherwood is just being touted as a joke.

Wake me up when this one fails miserably and we get round to appointing somebody with knowledge of 21st century tactics and man management, cheers."

nom de grrrrr (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 1 November 2016 06:59 (seven years ago) link

Lambert 1/6 with Sky Bet. I got no strong feelings, except relief if it's not one of the other muppets. I think he might bring some steady consolidation, which is fine for the time being.

nom de grrrrr (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 1 November 2016 07:31 (seven years ago) link

Sherwood probably needs to stop applying for jobs above L2. Pearson would be a shoe in for next UKIP leader, Cellino would probably like his style, but most reasonable people don't like working with thuggish bullies. There will always be a lot of football fans that will say people should be judged on their net contribution to results, and all else is insignificant. It's a load of shit really.

calzino, Tuesday, 1 November 2016 10:57 (seven years ago) link

pearson was warnock's recommendation for the qpr job during his brief advisory comeback spell (somewhere in between undermining both past and future managers and then recommending himself) so a lot of our biddable ukip partisans are on board with that

in fairness it is only political acumen stopping les giving sherwood the gig, in the unlikely event of relegation panic stations i could still see it happening

jfh is not quite a dead man walking but it's not looking good. clement taking over at the end of the season would be my tentative bet, despite m/l being exactly the same as jfh apart from being a wite brit with a dead qpr dad

r|t|c, Tuesday, 1 November 2016 12:58 (seven years ago) link

seems a little odd that michael o'neill has rarely come up in these bettings so far

r|t|c, Tuesday, 1 November 2016 13:00 (seven years ago) link

Sherwood seems like one of the most jumped up idiots in football, it seems insane he has ever been let anywhere near one big club, never mind two. I deduce this through a mix of physiognomy and listening to him talk a couple of times, but I feel sure I must be right.

“He tried to play like Guardiola-type football and in the Championship there is no respect – teams will not let you do that.”

yeah, can't see any of Pep's former clubs having done much in the Champo

At least his old pal Rushie gave up the management game when he realised he was absolutely no good at it. When you have just failed at Crawley and Chesterfield, perhaps not a good time to be playing the retrospective blame game.
