I had a Twitter account I never used and when I signed into it after a year I had a thousand new followers from Saudi Arabia. They are their own weird Twitter shit going on there, like these really astral spiritual memes of ducks and cats.

ha, I did this too, didn't tell him anything and wasn't sure how he had his notifications set up but happily he suddenly got ~12k emails. was proud/offended that he immediately rang me accusingly

i've never had an influx of that many bot followers but i do get a bot follower here and there, maybe a few a month, i used to block them but now i don't care anymore, many of them unfollow me after a little while anyway

Can you selectively hide who you follow? It seems kind of arbitrary that this is public in the first place imo.
