he has been around forever and never actually done much anywhere, maintaining a top echelon player rep without doing fuck all is an artform imo

calzino, Saturday, 22 October 2016 17:39 (seven years ago) link

obv not the first time he could be accused of [redacted] [redacted] [redacted]. But that was a long time ago tbf

calzino, Saturday, 22 October 2016 17:44 (seven years ago) link

hey, he's a guy who's always gonna get you 6,7 goals a season no problem

nom de grrrrr (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 22 October 2016 17:47 (seven years ago) link

I didn't realise he banged in 20+ in Norwich's last EFL season, but that was one swallow amongst a bunch of malfunctioning cuckoo clocks.

calzino, Saturday, 22 October 2016 22:46 (seven years ago) link

Yesterday, or the second half at least, was the most inept refereeing I've seen at any level.

Marker was placed immediately after the restart, gave a penalty against us for a fairly innocuous coming together which I suppose you can't really complain about but then showed a straight red for the challenge which as we all know was removed by rule change last year. And it all went downhill from there culminating in a flying challenge with both feet over the ball only getting a yellow and a player booked for a tackle which wasn't penalised. Not to mention a range of decisions being given blatantly the wrong way, the highlight being a genuinely great save by their keeper pushing a free kick over the bar being given as a goal kick.

I honestly thought reffing would improve when we went up but it's got way worse.

r|t|c, Tuesday, 25 October 2016 14:01 (seven years ago) link

Kenny's not available as any fule kno. i'm at me mom's as it happens, she was asking about this the other day. i told her i thought only idiots and nutters would want him sacked this soon. ho hum.

anybody but "somebody with Championship experience" for god's sake please

nom de grrrrr (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 25 October 2016 14:37 (seven years ago) link

well this was the blast of outraged adrenaline i needed this week. it's kind of comforting to know that the new owners aren't messing around.

except for the messing around, obv.

nom de grrrrr (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 25 October 2016 14:42 (seven years ago) link

willy sagnol now making a splash in the betting

following the pre-warnock briatore at qpr path like so far the next man up is edwards, then an honourable but brutally grim spell under silva, then steve cotterill, then two games with paul hart, then fosun abandon the structure and big sam takes you up

r|t|c, Tuesday, 25 October 2016 15:19 (seven years ago) link

suppose i just need to sit back and enjoy this. i would rather be fun than up, dunno if that's just nerd talk.

nom de grrrrr (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 25 October 2016 15:32 (seven years ago) link

Sagnol has a recent history for Ron Noades style idiot science racism, possibly too much of liability maybe?

calzino, Tuesday, 25 October 2016 15:39 (seven years ago) link

funnest thing i've read today is a mb itk claiming zenga couldnt get a flight back from dubai during the international break so he called up and told danny batth to take training

r|t|c, Tuesday, 25 October 2016 15:43 (seven years ago) link

feel like Silva and AVB are the most likely in most respects, which is, y'know, lol 2016

nom de grrrrr (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 25 October 2016 16:02 (seven years ago) link

I definitely wouldn't have predicted the state of EFL2 10 years back, but i sort of fucking love it tbh.

calzino, Tuesday, 25 October 2016 16:37 (seven years ago) link

sad to hear about Efe Sodje, probably a dark day for a generation of noughties children who wore their "Against All Odds" bandannas with pride.

calzino, Tuesday, 25 October 2016 17:32 (seven years ago) link

I always thought his brother Sam was a complete tosser though.

calzino, Tuesday, 25 October 2016 17:37 (seven years ago) link

accidentally happened upon nv in an e&s comments section and now i feel like a degenerate perv

good game brewing here

r|t|c, Friday, 28 October 2016 18:59 (seven years ago) link

"used to clean the seats with his dad while he was at villa park"
"should have just used a cloth"

actual chuckles at commentary banter, is this what my life's come to

r|t|c, Friday, 28 October 2016 19:20 (seven years ago) link

the good game was brewing while we could string two passes together, now it's just brentford with the rapid breaks not so much

bloody great player is ginger ninja ryan woods

r|t|c, Friday, 28 October 2016 19:25 (seven years ago) link

bentley and egan also excellent

i was holding back tbrr

nom de grrrrr (Noodle Vague), Friday, 28 October 2016 21:44 (seven years ago) link

Town haven't had this much of an arsekicking at CC since the Louis Saha days, it might be double figures by ft!

calzino, Saturday, 29 October 2016 15:25 (seven years ago) link

just ftr, the forces of lee novak and ched evans came together in mortal combat today, and lee novak prevailed

imago, Saturday, 29 October 2016 16:15 (seven years ago) link

yay! Shit player, but at least not repugnant slime on legs.

calzino, Saturday, 29 October 2016 16:21 (seven years ago) link

he wasn't actually bad in his first couple of seasons, but once the heroic workrate dropped off it became apparent he wasn't really top L1 standard.

calzino, Saturday, 29 October 2016 16:25 (seven years ago) link

it was actually quite a classy header

two minutes later he scuffed one wide unmarked from 15 yards though, just to prove it was really him

think he might be useful when fed on a pure diet of crosses

imago, Saturday, 29 October 2016 16:34 (seven years ago) link

also jesus, 3rd and 4th in the ch'ship both losing 5-0 :O

imago, Saturday, 29 October 2016 16:37 (seven years ago) link

It doesn't matter, we are in a fake position and have now been exposed as the one dimensional poundshop gen-gen crap that can't defend set-pieces for shit:p

calzino, Saturday, 29 October 2016 16:40 (seven years ago) link

or you just suffered fulham's twice-a-season pounding, it's magical when it happens, you have to hope it's not to you

imago, Saturday, 29 October 2016 16:45 (seven years ago) link

dammit people assured me that billionaire Chinese investors would mean instant success

nom de grrrrr (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 29 October 2016 17:04 (seven years ago) link

I wish some of our fans would realise we are still in the top 4, with a bottom 4 budget ffs!

calzino, Saturday, 29 October 2016 17:19 (seven years ago) link

Dave Fucking Edwards

nom de grrrrr (Noodle Vague), Monday, 31 October 2016 13:02 (seven years ago) link

nom de grrrrr (Noodle Vague), Monday, 31 October 2016 13:03 (seven years ago) link

In fact basically Lambert is the least depressing candidate so

nom de grrrrr (Noodle Vague), Monday, 31 October 2016 13:04 (seven years ago) link

blimey you really are doing the briatore route. worst possible shortlist, my condolences

r|t|c, Monday, 31 October 2016 13:15 (seven years ago) link

really did think this would be a straight choice between sam and silva

r|t|c, Monday, 31 October 2016 13:16 (seven years ago) link

meanwhile i seem to be the only qpr supporter alive who isn't going diabolical batshit foaming postal at jfh. i mean he's not doing great but... what is the rush, why everybody gotta be so FUCKING FURIOUS all the time. it is almost as if society is in some sort of low area at the side of a road that is used to catch water and carry it away

r|t|c, Monday, 31 October 2016 13:29 (seven years ago) link

Yeah I don't expect success tomorrow I would just like watchable football and a non-sociopathic manager and assume with patience and some mine invested things will improve over time. Modern football fan culture is poison

nom de grrrrr (Noodle Vague), Monday, 31 October 2016 14:35 (seven years ago) link

nom de grrrrr (Noodle Vague), Monday, 31 October 2016 14:36 (seven years ago) link

In a perfect world it'll poison itself and the bottom will drop out of football, but really it's just embitterment and macho posturing from here on out
