tv eye being so high is the surprise for me... always thought it one of the album's weaker tracks.

is the '73 footage above the only existing footage of the Williamson version of the band?

I was p surprised at Search and Destroy at no. 1 tbh, but then I've never really liked either mix I've heard of Raw Power, they just make it a really unpleasant/frustrating listening experience.

When I think about it, the Spacemen 3 rip of TV Eye definitely had an influence on me voting it as high as I did.

Also, did anyone mention the Jarmusch film? (I might have missed it upthread.) Too bad poll didn't coincide more with that...

yea that footage above i hadn't seen before - one thing about that recent jarmusch doco that i thought was a bummer was - ok kool interviews and stuff but there seemed to be no new footage of primetime stooges that i saw - apart from the usual stuff

Saw the Jarmusch last night. Liked most of it, although I would have been more interested in 20 minutes on The Idiot and Lust for Life than the reunion stuff, even though I understand that it's a Stooges film, not an Iggy film. The Ed Sanders and Warhol anecdotes were really funny.

I rank the first fifteen years of his solo years.

It was recorded in '75 and isn't billed as a solo album, so I think you're OK there.

"Repo Man" is the last great song he recorded.

"The Endless Sea" was a track that really caught with me in my couple recent listens to New Values. It might be the closest Iggy track to what it 'might' have sounded like if a collaboration with the Doors would have worked.

otm "The Endless Sea" -> "Five Foot One" is a great pair of tracks, can't help but think that Sonic Youth must have paid attention to that pair
