Only 14 ballots so far.

Of the previous polls I've run Stereolab got 40 ballots and Can 36. What is happening ILM? do not let Iggy down.

Downloaded the non-remastered version of Kill City and now I understand why it got such bad reviews back then, Iggy's voice is buried and the whole thing sounds like crap.

I've never listened to it cuz thats what i always heard about it. Praise here is befuddling.

it's a good album!

new noise, Sunday, 9 October 2016 02:44 (seven years ago) link

the remaster is a top 3 iggy album, the original is a bottom 3.

✖✖✖ (Moka), Sunday, 9 October 2016 04:01 (seven years ago) link

Respectfully disagree. Original is a sludgy lo fi Stones Album (I think the sludgy lo-fi Stones Album "Exile" is considered one of their best). The remaster just sounds fake, vocals too forward, some bad edits, etc. I suppose it probably comes down to taste and what you heard first.

Also, looking at songs left off of the "official" version, Gimme Some Skin, Tight Pants, Sick of You all add a lot to the sequence, and the replacements don't really thrill me.

Last day to vote!

✖✖✖ (Moka), Sunday, 9 October 2016 22:07 (seven years ago) link

Only 17 ballots it seems... hope we get interesting results. I'll start counting them tomorrow so if any of you still want to send a ballot you can do it until I post in here that voting is closed.

kinda amazed not more interest or ballots in this - compared to other polls woulda thought this would be more popular - maybe too many people are sucked into trumpland to care

will probably be able to put together a ballot by this evening
