wait, did he watch the game today? same old shit from Villa. there's half a decent team there (almost all new signings / youngsters). Elphick is probably the most popular player in the squad already, Tshibola looks like he might be good. Hutton Cissokho Westwood Gardener Gestede are all problems that need solving. Bacuna not much better. We're going to need at least one good midfielder if we're gonna get anywhere this season.

It has been the same kind of punditry from 5 live, where they seem to forget how tight this league is and seem to forget every year that parachute money doesn't always equate power.

calzino, Sunday, 7 August 2016 20:21 (seven years ago) link

We have Newcastle away next, my stepdad and brother are travelling to this one. Their first away game in something like 18 months. Sad fucking starfuckers.

calzino, Sunday, 7 August 2016 20:37 (seven years ago) link

Saunders is a moron. How hard would it have been to look at the respective trajectories of Villa and Wednesday over the last 12 months?

Charlton CEO Katrien Meire, the subject of fans protests, has been appointed to the FA Council as a representative for the EFL

Maybe her first act will be to promote the tightening of fit and plopper rulings over club ownership etc :p

glorious first win under Zenga, a 2-1 demolition of Crawley

Tom Watson in a fedora (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 9 August 2016 20:42 (seven years ago) link

Only 3 changes from sat and beaten by Shrewsbury, probably the early doors reality check some of us needed tbh. But still enthused by Kachunga scoring again.

calzino, Tuesday, 9 August 2016 21:12 (seven years ago) link

Nervy 2-1 win at Totton on Saturday, nervy 3-2 win at home to Mangotsfield last night. I think I will be saying nervy a lot this season.

Windsor Davies, Wednesday, 10 August 2016 20:14 (seven years ago) link

we've given up on the simply trying our best to let them score, as it's obviously quicker just to do it ourselves. can't deny that it's efficient

Ethan Ampadu: Exeter City 15-year-old gets first-team chance while on school holiday

"The biggest compliment I can give him is that he plays like a 35-year-old," Tisdale told BBC Radio Devon.

15, motm at centre back, and narrowly pipping hamza choudhury to the afro of the week award

p lol that his dad (kwame) works at arsenal academy and doesnt want him there

r|t|c, Wednesday, 10 August 2016 21:39 (seven years ago) link

he's played a sight better than poor old Hamza this week

Tom Watson in a fedora (Noodle Vague), Wednesday, 10 August 2016 21:42 (seven years ago) link

People seem genuinely excited about Ethan; as I understand it he hasn't signed full pro forms (with being 15 and all) and may not do so with us.

(His dad played for us and coached with us until recently btw, so I think Ethan remaining in Exeter was more to do with not disrupting his schooling than some comment on the Arsenal Academy; it's quite possible Kwame doesn't want him there for some reason.

that's gotta be 3 ungentlemanly conduct bookings

Tom Watson in a fedora (Noodle Vague), Wednesday, 10 August 2016 21:52 (seven years ago) link

You'd think so, wouldn't you? But apparently they pulled the same trick at the weekend and had similar referee non-response. Weird.

Tim, Wednesday, 10 August 2016 22:01 (seven years ago) link

referees are useless tbf

They were swarming our keeper on saturday as well in the same manner, fucking low level tinpot wankers they are- I take back everything good I have previously said about them

lol at all of this

we're about to sign a straight up rugby player (and Euro 2016 STAR)

imago, Wednesday, 10 August 2016 23:58 (seven years ago) link

I know it's much lower league but on Tuesday I think we had the worst refereeing performance I've ever seen. It's not an exaggeration to say he got every single call he was asked to make the wrong way round; highlights were giving a throw to Mangotsfield, then to us, then to them again and then awarding Mangotsfield the free kick for a foul then booking their player for making it.

Last season's best was flagging a player offside for passing to himself while dribbling with the ball, I think this outdoes it.

Above is the first illustration and each programme thereafter will have a similar theme as Wolves progress through the season, facing 23 separate opponents along the way.
