Yeah, a lot of respect and then some -- I always remember his name from the Hitchhikers' shows.

Used to present a thing called Don't Quote Me years and years ago in the early days of Channel 4 which was kind of like a TV adaptation of Quote Unquote, and a kind of forerunner to Have I Got News For You and every other comedy panel show thereafter. I might be the only person in the world who remembers this, even imdb doesn't list it. Anyway, that was my first introduction to him, and he was involved in one hell of a lot of the things I watched on telly thereafter.

RIP.

oh, fuck. time was, pretty much everything i loved on TV had "produced by geoffrey perkins" (and sometimes also geoff posner) at the end of it.

RIP indeed.

Wait, hang on, he INVENTED mornington crescent? Instant hero status right there.

The last thing I saw him do was a Catherine Tate sketch about farting.

Mornington Crescent still annoys me more than anything but I'm not going to hold it against the dude. RIP.

HOLY F**K, I bought the first series of KYTV only last year and wondered who the guy alongside Angus was, and why he didn't appear in anything else.

Even on reading the thread title it took a moment to click. My first thought was "HOLY F**K, ONSLOW'S DEAD"

A bit late obviously, what with ilx being down, but we should surely show some respect for this giant of Britcom?
He produced some of the best and worst television ever. But who among us is man, or woman, enough to sort the wheat from the chaff?

Telegraph obit that mentions some of his most famous work...

Ooops - haven't quite got the hang of new-nu-ilx yet...i'll get my coat.
