I do like that this guy is on a one-name basis with Sublime fans though. His biggest claim to fame is inheriting a Dalmation.

Miguel was a stunner at Pitchfork: a delight.
Plz stop being so charming, Miguel.

"Cadillac" is great. Might be my favorite song of the past couple months.

Heard part of it in background somewhere, and was thinking it could be Miguel, and its not bad.

Covering "Crazy In Love" on the 50 Shades Darker trailer. "Uh oh, uh oh, uh oh, oh no no", indeed.

seeing him tomorrow (he's opening for sia). this will be like the 26th time i've seen him since being introduced to his music by a student (who was interning at epic) six years ago. apparently he's playing a new song called 'i told you so' on this tour?
― maura, Monday, 17 October 2016 21:00 (seven years ago) link
I wonder if Sia fans like him? That tour is here too, but I'm not a Sia fan. Only saw Miguel live once (at the 1,200 capacity or so Howard Theatre) and he was very charismatic and impressive onstage.

How did his sets change after Wildheart? I saw him open for Drake on the NWTS tour and I can't say I loved all the guitars—they seemed kind of indiscriminate. Wish I'd gotten to see him shortly after All I Want Is You but the show I was gonna go to (he was opening for Trey Songz I think?) got canceled
― Evan R, Tuesday, 18 October 2016 14:56 (seven years ago) link
Saw him open for Sia on Sunday. He was sort of meandering but worked hard to win people over. To varying degrees of success.
― Josh in Chicago, Tuesday, 18 October 2016 16:02 (seven years ago) link
Should say, highlight was him giving an inspirational speech about his climb, which culminated in him asking the audience to stand up, raise their middle fingers with him, dance and chant "fuck Donald Trump!" to a funky beat. Then when it was done he apologized to all the parents with small kids for his language, saying he was just having fun. And then without missing a beat, he returned to the "fuck Donald Trump!" chant, grinning ear to ear.

I don't remember the last show I saw where the headliner didn't lead a Trump diss. I just saw Kesha then Rae Sremmurd do it

obv this is far from an ideal miguel single but i don't hate it. it actually could fit pretty seamlessly into the dreamy middle section of kaleidoscope dream.
also i like wildheart and defended it at the time, but i'll be happy if he bends back towards radio music instead of following his rock star muse even further down that rabbit hole. despite this song i think it will be good for him... he made better music when he was trying to get played on R&B radio

AIWIY is his best album
― k3vin k., Friday, 25 August 2017 15:34 (six years ago) link
This could easily have fitted on Kaleidoscope Dream and (especially) on Wildheart, it doesn't feel like such a radical left turn for me. Travis Scott should be nowhere near it obviously, but it's otherwise fine.
