I met Nitsuh 14 years ago on a ­message board, and he has always been one of my favorite writers. A year-and-a-half ago, I saw him on the street and I told him I was looking for a copywriter. He has done some great longform pieces here, too -- a recent one analyzes why slim wallets are such a big thing on Kickstarter. We also have Nick Sylvester and Sam Hockley-Smith. They’re highlighting things that are happening here. As far as bigger editorial ambitions, I can say they’re working on a variety of projects.

idk if it is the redesign, quite possibly it is, but it seems like there has been a dramatic drop-off in quality across the site, it seems worthless to me now and i used to visit it everyday

I would say the Conde Nast acquisition has more to do with the direction of content on the site.

there's been a dramatic drop-off in quality in the stuff I've written but that is largely due to pulling my life in 500 different directions, 200 of which are outside the solar system and 250 of which are in hell

FWIW, I haven't noticed a drop-off in the quality of the work of writers I already admire. The main qualm for me is probably less prominence on the homepage for track reviews. Tracks now only seem to appear as news items which I think makes it a little harder to keep up with newer stuff.

i don't know how it works at pitchfork but if you see a video on a website that you don't like it's safe to assume that it was made by an entirely separate staff of people from the one that makes the website you enjoy reading

Not for perusing websites, no. But I do use it to text, email and make phone calls!

is it really pronounced "Bone Eee-vere"? i just watched that dad rock video and that's how he says it. i always pronounced it "Bonn Eye-ver".

that dad rock video isn't that bad. pointless and not really worth watching but pretty accurate.
