I've come to the conclusion that as an album title, "Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols" sits comfortably in the tradition of this thread. And I'd love to see the cover re-imagined in the style of some of those featured here.

Georgie Fame - All Me Own Work

soref, Wednesday, 15 June 2016 00:16 (seven years ago) link

Been there, done that, I'm afraid. Has "Been There, Done That" been used at all?

Larry 'Leg' Smith (Tom D.), Wednesday, 15 June 2016 00:22 (seven years ago) link

... many times apparently.

Larry 'Leg' Smith (Tom D.), Wednesday, 15 June 2016 00:25 (seven years ago) link

... almost a separate thread in the making, in fact.

Larry 'Leg' Smith (Tom D.), Wednesday, 15 June 2016 00:26 (seven years ago) link

sorry, I just noticed you'd posted it when doing a search for Georgie Fame. search for "All Me Own Work" produced no results for some reason. good album, anyway.

GF also produced "No Worries", don't know if that's shown up yet

Harvey Manfrenjensenden (Doctor Casino), Sunday, 3 July 2016 00:27 (seven years ago) link

That Fred Wesley album is really good. Produced by George Clinton and Bootsy Collins, it's basically a P-Funk album - it has a great version of "Up for the Down Stroke" on it. The follow-up, Say Blow By Blow Backwards, is good, too.

Dunno if it's upthread, but I believe the Clare Fischer one was from 1987, so Derek Bell's 1981 effort beat him by several years:
