this has to be "Pumping on Your Stereo" right? going to give it another listen before actually voting.

I haven't listened to this in about 15 years and only remember about four of the songs, but I think I liked "Mary" best. I'll go with "Mary." Don't let me down, Mary.

My heart says "Moving" and my head says "Mary." I dunno, I guess it's gotta be "Moving." What a groove in the chorus!

They would do that 'put two half songs together' thing a few times, "Moving" is where it worked.

"After all it is the leaders of a country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy or fascist dictatorship, or a parliament or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peace makers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country."

I have a very distinct memory of my first day moving into university halls, the first time I'd ever lived away from home, and 'Moving' (which was a hit at the time) blasting down the corridor from a soon-to-be friend's stereo. I'm always filled with poignance by that song, and despite my interest in Supergrass having waned a little by then, I'm still a huge huge fan of it.

The Zen teacher’s Gaz Coombes loved his evening romp with his master. The Gaz would bound ahead to fetch a stick, then run back, wag his tail, and wait for the next game. On this particular evening, the teacher invited one of his brightest students to join him – a boy so intelligent that he became troubled by the contradictions in Buddhist doctrine.
“You must understand,” said the teacher, “that words are only guideposts. Never let the words or symbols get in the way of truth. Here, I’ll show you.”
With that the teacher called his happy Gaz Coombes.
“Fetch me the moon,” he said to his Gaz and pointed to the full moon.
“Where is my Gaz Coombes looking?” asked the teacher of the bright pupil.
“He’s looking at your finger.”
“Exactly. Don’t be like my Gaz Coombes. Don’t confuse the pointing finger with the thing that is being pointed at. All our Buddhist words are only guideposts. Every man fights his way through other men’s words to find his own truth.”

It's like Gaz Coombes Ya hear me coming through your speakers You see me mashin' up your air waves I know you can't get enough of my sound
It's like Gaz Coombes Ya hear me coming through your speakers You see me blaggin' up your air waves I know you can't get enough of my sound
There's no place to hurt yourself The fight - I'm gonna get it Tallest running for me Baby, you're gonna regret it I can't understand why you can't free yourself, let it
Go, go, go, go
Got you in my Palm, now listen good, you can't escape it Bring you to ma world and hold you, see if you can take it Don't you be afraid, I know you're strong enough to make it
Go, go, go,
It's like Gaz Coombes Hear me coming through your speakers You see me mashin' up your air waves I know you can't get enough of my sound
It's like Gaz Coombes Hear me coming through your speakers You see me blaggin' up your air waves I know you can't get enough of my sound
Everything your life's been searching for's in this direction Come a little closer Don't you feel the intersection? We gon' take you down and then we gonna keep you sweating
Take you two around, you never known it's non-existant You won't hear it coming, no matter how hard you listen Can't predict the highway, bring a replay our position
I don't know where you run from, what you're running from, whoa I don't know where you run from, what you're running from, whoa I don't know where you run from, what you're running from, whoa Oh, you won't bring up yourself on fly
People, put your hands up in the air, I know you like it Don't you fight it, I can see you're high and all excited Flying through the night, we going up, beter hold tight it
Now we got the starline and the g-tha to desire Let me see you jump up, come on, with me - let's go higher Climbin' up the speakers, we gonna set this place on fire
Go, go, go, it's like...
Gaz Coombes Hear me coming through your speakers You see me mashin' up your air waves I know you can't get enough of my sound
It's like Gaz Coombes Hear me coming through your speakers You see me blaggin up your air waves I know you can't get enough of my sound
You keep runnin' and you're runnin' And you're runnin' and you're runnin' away, away, away, boy You keep runnin' and you're runnin' And you're runnin' and you're runnin' away, away, away You keep runnin' and you're runnin' And you're runnin' and you're runnin' away, away, away, boy You keep runnin' and you're runnin' And you're runnin' and you're runnin' away
Go, go, go

Faraway is the one I like most, though Pumping on your Stereo provides the most nostalgia - as it was played everywhere that summner.

Yeah, like Kitchen Person I thought this was a bit of a step down from In It For The Money, although 'Moving' is still one of their very best songs (I love Mick Quinn's bass playing on it, too, always the most underrated component of this band) - I think I'm going to vote for 'Eon', though, because I love how it's a build up, a few bars of song in the middle, and then dies off. 'What Went Wrong (In Your Head)' must be one of my least favourite Supergrass songs.
