Ninth annual Coint & Plick, for 2015 games - BALLOT TIME (due Feb. 12) - Start your stumping!

My ballot is gonna be last-minute because a) I haven't played much from 2015, b) I probably wouldn't seriously vote for most of the 2015 stuff I've played, and c) I hope to play at least one or two more 2015 releases that tickle my fancy, but d) it's really hard for me to make myself play new stuff when I'm all into playing unexplored old stuff on my new Vita. Short version: I hope to get a ballot in even if that ballot is only like two games long.

Did anyone play Sunless Sea while it was free? I'm giving it a decent number of pts.

I guess, realistically, I'm not going to get around to much of the stuff that I wanted to get around to, so I may just go ahead and submit the three or four 2015 games I've actually played.

I will submit mine today too. Though in trying to sort it I have realised that this voting system punishes people who liked a lot of games in a year. Had to drop a few that I would have liked to give points to as I wanted to give stronger votes to my absolute favourites.

^ this 100%. my list could/should be twice as large. maybe [if not this year than the next] we could have a system where if you vote for 10 games you get X pts but if you vote for 20 games you get double the amount? that way we could encourage larger ballots without giving ppl who only vote for 1 game the same number of points as someone voting for 20?

done. voted max points for the game that i was recently shocked to realize i've spent over 6 full days of my life playing this year, then 10 pts each to the games i've had fun watching other people play and hope to play in the future.

Yeah, I know what you mean--I don't really want to change it at this point since it's fun to compare to previous years but I definitely had to drop some stuff I liked. Good news is solo 5-point votes usually get in because nobody votes

Maybe we can look at adding more points in future years, but maintaining the 5-30 range per individual title

I'm not going to complain too much, as it makes deciding what to cut part of the process too, but definitely something to think about. I didn't quite have 20 games to rep for but I can imagine if I had it would have been very very hard.

Anyway, sent. Haven't included any pics, will do so if I get time but no promises.

I was only able to play a handful of new games this past year, but I've sent in a ballot.

I tried out two short nominees this week and one will be getting a lot of points.

Going to vote soon but i havent played that many games that came out last year, so everything is on it.

I voted Metal Gear Solid V at the top. I know it has gotten a lot of negative press but it is nearly flawless to play. I picked up GOTY Witcher 3 for a bit and it was an absolute struggle to deal with the controls and camera. I also think MGSV's story is highly underrated.

I played way too much MGSV, like over 500 hours. So it's sort of an overwhelming presence for 2015 for me. Looking forward to finding out about some cool stuff I missed last year!

Did MGSV get bad reviews? I thought it was universally loved.

I mean the drama surrounding Kojima and Konami. It has been weird to see everyone dogpile on this company who has been making games for 3 decades.

same, my biggest disappointment was the ending of my #1 game. it's still my favorite, it just could've been MORE my favorite

Alright, I've got 20 ballots. I'm going to finish the image template and start generating them in probably an hour or two.

If you wanted to submit a ballot but are late, you've got til 12:00 Eastern.

Also for a little bit of drama, the cutoff for the rollout is 10 points, so everything that got 5 you wonder if it might show up in the top X during the rollout. So it'll be a top ~60 games in 2015 (full list will come after)

If you want to pad it out I literally have 10 more entries I desperately wanted to vote for but didn't have any more points to give out - I'd be happy to give them 5 pts each and send them along ;)

Unfortunately I got my ps4 just too late to vote for...anything on the mom list. Next year I'm all over it though.

I think I said the rollout was starting today, but on account of I'm an idiot, it's starting tmrw (and I'll do a 3-day rollout instead of 4). Sorry for the delay!

No need to compress to 3 days, if they roll out slower and that leaves more room for discussion as we go then that's a good thing, no? Unless of course you just don't want to give over even more of your life to it, which would be completely justified obviously.

i just don't like doing it over a weekend, or splitting it over 2 different weeks, plus mondays are difficult for me... i'll get started soon tho :) just need to get the uploads ready
