ILM's 2015 End of Year Albums & Tracks Poll / VOTING THREAD

Felt a bit silly putting 3 modern classical records at the top of my albums ballot, because they have a snowball's chance in hell making it to the top 77... Well, at least my tracks ballot was fairly popist.

My top 3 albums this year will definitely all make it, but most years my favourites are things that don't have a hope. No point in voting against your heart. My top 2 tracks probably won't get in, nor will a lot of other stuff.

I woke up this morning with a sore head and the vague sense that I forgot to vote for sons of kemet and maybe also for kendrick(!) so it's fair to say that my ballot was not the most accurate representation of my listening year. If I hadn't been so busy lately I'd have dug in a bit more but tbh I don't know the names of a couple of the tracks I've loved the most this year, and there was an artist that according to spotify was in my top 3 most listened in 2015 and I literally didn't recognise the name at all, like I'd never heard of them

I can see the motivation to vote strategically in a political election, even though it's usually not my preference. Why even consider voting strategically for a message board poll about music, though?

(Also, I'm eager to find out which modern classical records!)

I chose a weighted ballot as there wasnt anywhere near enough to fill a whole ballot

I can see why. You can give a lot of points to records you love that most likely won't place or give these points to records you like a lot that actually have a shot at making it to the final list (meaning more people are likely to listen to them).

just realized i left a lot of stuff off my albums ballot (dirty sprite 2, blahdahdah), ah well

I voted but I forgot to nominate so my tracks ballot doesn't contain the three songs I actually listened to most this year :(
