i love that there are two versions of realiti and that we have them both. imagine this was never a problem before music was recorded

I never thought the demo of realiti could be bettered, but the album version has grown on me a lot to the point where I think they are equally great in their own way.

I keep forgetting Janelle Monae is on this album. Stealthiest guest spot I've heard in awhile.

on the umpteenth listen on the bus this morning, i suddenly no longer feel there are pacing issues with the front-end of the album. for weeks i started with Flesh Without Blood as the first track and played from there, bouncing to California later. but now the first 4 tracks sound very natural together.

on another note, 'laughing and not being normal' is almost a ballsier statement of her MO than California as a diss song to industry/online culture/whatever. busting out such a beautiful violin-based composition with the ethereal opera vocals etc... stronger statement than the lyrics on California or maybe just a more subtle one.

anxious to see if she'll reschedule the cancelled DC & Philly dates any time soon...

if you listen to her early stuff at a decent volume the amount of clipping is insane (i get it, she barely knew how to record at the time), i suppose a vinyl pressing would only make those issues worse.

I may as well hold off on giving arbutus money if they're dbags, I trust the intel. Ps does grimes have any shirts sized 4t, asking for a friend.

Regarding the KillVMaim video: I like the outfits and the videogame references but Claire and her brother should let someone else do the directing and editing of the videos. I can see the potential but it looks very tacky, the whole thing is sort of messy, some cuts going on for too long, some are too short, lips don't sync with the song... it doesn't match the energy of the song at all.
