i would not recommend the butternut squash gyoza, it's exactly the sum of its parts

took a flyer on the packaged grass-fed sirloin. well, that was a waste of $11 and I should have known steak in a box was going to taste way more like cold cuts than it did like an actual yummy cold piece of leftover steak

Not the lashings of ginger beer you want!

nooooo

Not sure who they contracted that to, but I wanted to go buy a case

μpright mammal (mh), Thursday, 17 December 2015 03:18 (eight years ago) link

I drank all the ones I bought

μpright mammal (mh), Thursday, 17 December 2015 03:19 (eight years ago) link

balls, Saturday, 19 December 2015 20:02 (eight years ago) link

Update on the gummis -- I bought some and there were a few (maybe 2 in the whole bag) that had a very different and distinctly bitter flavor. I think there may have been a mixup at the gummy penguin factory

La Lechuza (La Lechera), Saturday, 19 December 2015 20:17 (eight years ago) link

I just bought these too thinking they were just rich gummies but no they are fn Gushers

cory artangel (Stevie D(eux)), Saturday, 19 December 2015 22:46 (eight years ago) link

That Super Burrito is..... not that great :-/ it just tastes like I'm eating big spoonfuls of kale and quinoa, it's not like some wonderful flavor combination greater than the sum of it's parts, which is imo sort of how a burrito is supposed to operate.

three weeks pass...

fuck these turds. this shit tastes like week-old leftover off-brand box mac. Not good.

I didn't care for them either.

Jeff, Monday, 18 January 2016 15:51 (eight years ago) link

i am addicted to mini cheese sandwich crackers

Flamenco Drop (VegemiteGrrl), Monday, 18 January 2016 16:27 (eight years ago) link

After an absence of many month, my favorite minestrone soup was back on the shelf! I actually jumped in the air and gave a little clap.

kate78, Monday, 18 January 2016 17:22 (eight years ago) link

xp me too!!!! they are so great

They are as wonderful as those gloppy cheezy rays are horrifying.

carl agatha, Monday, 18 January 2016 19:53 (eight years ago) link

the mac & cheese bites are wonderful.

sarahell, Monday, 18 January 2016 19:56 (eight years ago) link

three weeks pass...

Pizza Veggie Burgers were fantastic. We eat a lot of the Quinoa Cowboy Veggie Burgers, but I think Pizza Burgers is going to make it into the rotation.

Jeff, Wednesday, 10 February 2016 14:18 (eight years ago) link

I like the Thai veggie burgers. But I have this problem where I'm good for about five of any variety of veggie burger, so I wind up with a bunch of three-quarters full burger boxes.

got the gluten-free cupcakes because they were prominently placed, and I didn't see any glutenous cupcakes nearby. Pretty tasty cupcake.

sarahell, Thursday, 11 February 2016 18:26 (eight years ago) link

chicken balti curry pies are goooood

Flamenco Drop (VegemiteGrrl), Thursday, 11 February 2016 18:31 (eight years ago) link

omg the chicken baltis and the steak & ales I kept in my work freezer at all times (though i think I started to tire of them)

police patrol felt the smell of smoke and found that goat burns (Stevie D(eux)), Thursday, 11 February 2016 18:50 (eight years ago) link

yeah i dunno if i could eat a lot of them, but god, awesome step up from a boring-ass pot pie

Flamenco Drop (VegemiteGrrl), Thursday, 11 February 2016 19:13 (eight years ago) link

I would try these steak&ale pies

μpright mammal (mh), Thursday, 11 February 2016 19:20 (eight years ago) link

they're v hearty and flavorful and riche

police patrol felt the smell of smoke and found that goat burns (Stevie D(eux)), Thursday, 11 February 2016 19:32 (eight years ago) link

v dope

Flamenco Drop (VegemiteGrrl), Thursday, 11 February 2016 19:42 (eight years ago) link

Do NOT look at the nutritional information on the back of the Balti pies. In fact just throw the box the fuck out and enjoy them.

^^^

Flamenco Drop (VegemiteGrrl), Thursday, 11 February 2016 22:13 (eight years ago) link

That's why I never get them, because I did look at it. Same with the quiches.

Jeff, Thursday, 11 February 2016 22:49 (eight years ago) link

Flamenco Drop (VegemiteGrrl), Thursday, 11 February 2016 22:59 (eight years ago) link

Sith Dog (El Tomboto), Friday, 12 February 2016 00:19 (eight years ago) link

one of the best Japanese approximations of Budweiser for sure

μpright mammal (mh), Friday, 12 February 2016 02:34 (eight years ago) link

yeah the chicken balti pies are awesome but are super calorie/fat dense :(

i bought the hatch chili mac & cheese...very very mild. just get the regular mac & cheese and doctor it up, probably a better value for the $$.

musically, Tuesday, 16 February 2016 16:33 (eight years ago) link

soy and flax seed chips are pretty good, especially if you warm them up a bit

F♯ A♯ (∞), Tuesday, 16 February 2016 17:37 (eight years ago) link

wtf who warms up chips

police patrol felt the smell of smoke and found that goat burns (Stevie D(eux)), Tuesday, 16 February 2016 17:53 (eight years ago) link

Fresh tortilla chips are warm.

nickn, Tuesday, 16 February 2016 18:11 (eight years ago) link

Yeah I usually warm up my tortilla chips. Because I can't deep fry my own.

we salute you, our half-inflated dark lord (GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ), Tuesday, 16 February 2016 20:13 (eight years ago) link

i have never even considered doing such a thing unless i'm melting cheese on them, and i'm told this is frowned upon by snobs (not that i care what snobs think about my nachos)

La Lechuza (La Lechera), Tuesday, 16 February 2016 20:19 (eight years ago) link

True snobs wouldn't even eat nachos, that's purely a slobs thing.

we salute you, our half-inflated dark lord (GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ), Tuesday, 16 February 2016 20:20 (eight years ago) link

there are bad nachos, but all nacho choices are, in the end, very personal. if you enjoy them, then they're good.

μpright mammal (mh), Tuesday, 16 February 2016 20:21 (eight years ago) link

actually, i warm them up because we're a bit sensitive to the oils and salt they use

warming them up helps. there are a bunch of usa/california products that we're sensitive to in my family; massively produced fruits, processed foods, etc.

F♯ A♯ (∞), Tuesday, 16 February 2016 20:24 (eight years ago) link

uh, not produced...but harvested, i guess?

F♯ A♯ (∞), Tuesday, 16 February 2016 20:25 (eight years ago) link

I can't resist 6.99/lb almonds even though they aren't as crispy/crunchy/fresh as other brands

rip van wanko, Tuesday, 16 February 2016 20:35 (eight years ago) link

thai lime & chili cashews every time

μpright mammal (mh), Tuesday, 16 February 2016 20:40 (eight years ago) link

why do i buy trader joe's salsa? every time I do it, it is always so disappointing that I eat a tenth of it and then say, "why suffer through bad salsa?" and get good salsa at whole foods.

sarahell, Wednesday, 17 February 2016 18:23 (eight years ago) link

that said, the Indonesian salsa is actually quite good

sarahell, Wednesday, 17 February 2016 18:25 (eight years ago) link

their corn uhh salsa or whatever they call it is pretty good

the tomato-based salsa are all pretty meh as far as I've found

μpright mammal (mh), Wednesday, 17 February 2016 18:31 (eight years ago) link

The tomatillo is OK if you want mild.

nickn, Wednesday, 17 February 2016 19:23 (eight years ago) link

i like taking the red or green jarred salsa and blending it with loads of cilantro and many habaneros. they're both great bases, imo, but kinda weak by themselves
