Yeah it does look like they've rearranged it to put all the R1 boshers at the front, credit to them for not just whacking Rumble right up as track two or whatever.

Idly wondering if she's gone for a full-scale RnG banger here, although the grime producers here are at the clumpier end of the spectrum. No Royal-T in the midst of all this really is unforgivable.

ikwym but as soon as i started putting together an alt producer list of my own i saw the sense of it, tracks become too distinct in a way that isnt held together by familiarity the way it is here

put more simply, "X" is pointedly different to "(produced by)"

i make an exception for tom shorterz who could have done the whole thing and every desired flavour would be fire. mildly scandalous omission imho

i liked the last album more than most but she def seemed to have gotten gummed up creatively, this seems like a real passion project so i'm happy for her

it looks like they're doing a continuous mix of this one too, the one for red was def way better than the album tracklist

not what i'd expect from chris lorenzo but it's v lush

drip-feeding this over four months when it was all ready to go was such an incredibly stupid decision

sort of counterintuitive but the range and variety of styles mean it works much better as an album - these pre-release singles feel much more random just tossed out by themselves without even a video. (plus none of them are the ones i would have personally chosen!) ("calm down" was a very low-key lead but it did its job well enough, then i'd've gone with "dreamerz" or "lose your head") (well i'd've gone with "come a little closer" but god knows when that'll emerge now)

there's a video for the craig david one. "i wanna be" is pretty great

I'm not sure this is a great album, but it's a good album with great moments. For something that seems intended as a celebration of clubbing life it feels a little lacklustre. The outro is a lot better than any ballad from the last album though.

Is anyone else listening to this album now that it's out? I.... kinda enjoy it - it's great for gardening - but haven't been obsessed with any of the songs yet.

last four-five songs is an incredible stretch and I love the center (i wanna be/calm down)

yeah the second version of 'Honey' is terrific.

Still listening -- no opinion yet on the whole.

ugh this has more non-entities than any other Katy release

Feel like the back half of this is much stronger than the first half, as an album it suffers again from poor sequencing and a general feel of trying to cover too many bases at once, although Lose Your Head is excellent.

I've only listened twice but Calm Down and Dark Delirium were the real standouts, sweeping and slinky at the same time. It made me think that a lush, Philly garage sound would be the very best of all possible looks for Katy.

Craig David is so unwelcome on this as well.
