pretty much anyone who isn't a professional sportswriter whose twitter bio leads off with something about their sports teams should be shot too

i'm feeling pretty autocratic this morning

okay i think i prefer reading twitter on web now - opening it up, scrolling down a little, closing it. seems like a more chill option than watching the unread tweet count in tweetbot as i slowly consume the entire feed.

ppl with professional twitter accounts who list "father of two sons" or something first

isn't the standard "father to two wonderful sons"?

japanese mage (LocalGarda), Tuesday, 1 December 2015 18:13 (eight years ago) link

fearer of god

this construction seems to be weirdly popular in people's social media or tinder biogs - like "lover of gin", "drinker of tea" etc. i guess this kinda thing is low level viral, like warts.

japanese mage (LocalGarda), Tuesday, 1 December 2015 18:15 (eight years ago) link

voice of god. opinions his own

LEGIT (Lamp), Tuesday, 1 December 2015 18:16 (eight years ago) link

i like when people who have like 200 followers and but still mention the company they work for are like "all views my own" as if it's going to be on the front page of the paper that a product manager at massive media said they were in two minds about bombing syria, while taking a shit.

japanese mage (LocalGarda), Tuesday, 1 December 2015 18:17 (eight years ago) link

of one mind about bombing the bowl

mattresslessness, Tuesday, 1 December 2015 18:19 (eight years ago) link

decent pathos to those ones that have "sometimes blogs on someofmythoughts.blogspot.com"

japanese mage (LocalGarda), Tuesday, 1 December 2015 18:20 (eight years ago) link

the "follower of christ" or "christ-follower" or whatever thing instead of just saying "christian" is the worst evangelical-to-twitter-bio thingy

μpright mammal (mh), Tuesday, 1 December 2015 18:28 (eight years ago) link

botherer of god

japanese mage (LocalGarda), Tuesday, 1 December 2015 18:29 (eight years ago) link

have all this innocuous stuff in yr bio, picture of your baby as your picture, and then spew hatred at ppl who express political thoughts you dislike

μpright mammal (mh), Tuesday, 1 December 2015 18:34 (eight years ago) link

botherer of god

this made me laugh so much i wish i could use it

most celebs who do that seem to constantly find themselves posting a string of "enough for one night, some real morons out there, as per usual" type tweets, circa midnight, every few weeks.

slightly lesser celebrity but the golfer, lee westwood, had a memorable meltdown after getting abuse for playing a terrible round.

The parent humblebrag thing is so common - seems more so with fathers than mothers tho.

nashwan, Wednesday, 2 December 2015 14:08 (eight years ago) link

kind of diff genre but let's not forget that james woods sued a twitter for calling him a cokehead

whole lotta ad homs on twitter

μpright mammal (mh), Wednesday, 2 December 2015 14:51 (eight years ago) link

love RT ad homs, to endorse them

gwyneth anger (patron sailor), Wednesday, 2 December 2015 15:14 (eight years ago) link

ime people who whine about ad hominem arguments are annoying nerds who assume twitter is their own personal debate club
