Nope, sorry, the Misthyrming came out in February. I think the Dimesland album was December of last year though.

It just came out on CD on Crucial Blast. I guess it was digital-only before that, if that disqualifies it you'll be forcing me to build a time machine and nominate it last year.

VI is a French black metal trinity, made of current and ex-members of Aosoth and Antaeus. Their debut full-length album, "De Praestgiis Angelorum", bestirs within the characteristic black metal niche developed by the said bands, with the addition of expanded guitar work, choirs and subtle sample parts. VI describes their music as "extreme, devoted black metal with illuminated chaos".

Quite like that Sunpocrisy, even though it's a bit shiny by my usual standards. And they really need to work on naming things, the band name and title are both pretty awful.

I thought I was pretty much done with post-metal actually, but I've heard a small handful of things this year that convinces me the genre still has legs. Just about.

I love Maladie's albums but the production, esp on the new one, makes my ears bleed. I like how they combine as many languages as they do metal subgenres, though.

It has to be done before the main poll and when you run it the week before the main poll it gets overshadowed by the other poll and people cant be arsed voting in both esp when voting is open for both at the same time.

If someone else wants to run it then they can choose when it runs. But everytime i ask there's no takers

oh and another of the reasons we moved the poll to December is because everyone was burnt out making lists by january and we got a terrible turn out.
