Frazetta did art that was used on one or two Nazareth rekkids. However, they were the Nazareth rekkids that weren't the ones most people kept in their collections.
I dunno. I've hear Wolfmother's "Love Train" and stuff over and over and I don't hear 70's or I'd like it a lot more than I do. Which is the equiv of an 'eh' when its on.

>The fact remains - no matter how good or bad, real metal fans >will never buy albums by Wolfmother
Probably true. I like metal and metalheads have a certain charm but lord knows they're fairly dogmatic and narrow in their tastes.
My personal opinion of Wolfmother: I was introduced to them via the "Jimmy Kimmel concert series" where they played about four songs. I was tremendously entertained and immediately downloaded the album. What a dissapointment! It's like all of the rawness and excitement were smoothed down. Live, the singer essentially howled, with passion if not precision, and the solos were monstrousl raw and volcanic. The studio recordings are much more restrained and predictable. Alas. I hope in the future they'll be able to capture the tremendous energy of their live show.

I was told I'm Jim Anchower. But I don't have a stocking cap. And I am too old. I thought the Detroit Rock City movie had nothing to do with my experience. It was always easy to get AC/DC, Kiss and Sabbath tickets.

Video of Mike Patton being interviewed at Lollapalooza as Wolfmother start to play; his reaction is amusing:

Someone was telling me the other day that Wolfmother straight from the get go had critics talking. As industry bigwigs fumbled for their cheque books they sold out show after show without even a proper release to their name, sending Sydney hipsters crazy.

I saw the singer in a really shitty restaurant in Brisbane the other week.

I ran in to an old friend literally seconds after this happened, which was more exciting.

They make more sense now.

pretty much the case from what i remember - they were allegedly signed after their third gig. of course they'd been rehearsing for nigh on eight years before playing any gigs so you'd hope they'd be somewhat polished

I had always kinda hoped these guys would turn into a worth-taking-seriously Stoner Rock Zeppelin. Disappointed they didn't go anywhere.

the return of wolfmother.. as the singer and two new dudes
― balls by titleist (electricsound), Tuesday, 31 March 2009 02:20 (4 years ago) Permalink
Saw them play at the Sound Relief show at the MCG a couple of weeks ago. Afro's two new sidekicks were just as anonymous as the ones they replaced.
And the band sucked.

Still sucked.
So, any scuttlebutt as to why the two dudes left or is it obvious?
