About the "50% of canadians near the border" thing...

a) That has a lot to do with how the country was initially settled.
b) It's FUCKING COLD everywhere else. What, did you think we ENJOYED it or something?

Simon H., Thursday, 12 August 2004 12:27 (nineteen years ago) link

And
C) We did at one time own or claim ownership over Maine, Washington/Oregon State, Ohio river valley and upstate New York. But the British tossed it all away. So we can't help it if the Manifest dynasty made us close neighbors.

Another picture of Canada's--and possibly the world's--greatest hippy magician ever, to get us closer to 35%.

Americans accusing Canadians of insecurity has made my day lots. That's comedy.

Dave B (daveb), Thursday, 12 August 2004 13:29 (nineteen years ago) link

As a nation we're very secure in the fact we aren't Americans.
In fact I hear its printed on the new 100 dollar bill.

Based on the pictures posted so far, our Doug Henning content quota is sadly only at 11.1%.

Yes, and I'm glad CWY got me before Katimavik, eek. That said, I encourage all people under the age of 25 to do programs like this. But I'm of the what-doesn't-kill-you-makes-you-stronger school. Oh, and an idealist.
(i'm not saying x-post just b/c of Doug Henning.)

Are you a more informed and involved Canadian for it, Huck? (But seriously, I actually am. Still fun to make fun of though.)

From Hansard, the Parliamentary Record:
Chuck Strahl:

If full disclosure is necessary to the financial manager, it begs an important question. Just who is the boss of Canada? Is it the government or the people who elect
the government? I would say that the people of Canada are the boss and they have hired this government for a short period of time to manage the public affairs for
them.

Huck, Thursday, 12 August 2004 16:31 (nineteen years ago) link
