Do you suppose they close their lips over their lit cigarette while rolling?

Maria :D, Friday, 31 August 2007 03:05 (sixteen years ago) link

I was imagining cupped hands around the cigarette, doing the kayak-rolling with thigh and torso muscles. In the mouth makes more sense. Even the pudgiest hands would let in water.

Beth Parker, Friday, 31 August 2007 03:19 (sixteen years ago) link

That's incoherent. I'm a little drunk. I walked the dog in the (waning, cloud-obscured) moonlight again. My drunken stumbling feet know the path pretty well.

Beth Parker, Friday, 31 August 2007 03:20 (sixteen years ago) link

Ha ha, nutsack.

I R GRONEUP

accentmonkey, Friday, 31 August 2007 07:18 (sixteen years ago) link

OK WAU

My mate Dave told me last night his parents live in the same village as LOL TOLHURST and ARE FRIENDS WITH HIM.

aldo, Friday, 31 August 2007 08:41 (sixteen years ago) link

That is quite wau. Is the inside of his house painted entirely in dark red gloss paint, I wonder?

accentmonkey, Friday, 31 August 2007 09:32 (sixteen years ago) link

Totally Non-shocking Revelation #1 - Lol likes a bit of a drink.

aldo, Friday, 31 August 2007 09:36 (sixteen years ago) link

Snakebite? Or something more sophisticated?

accentmonkey, Friday, 31 August 2007 09:38 (sixteen years ago) link

Apparently he pretty much only drinks real ale now. But quite a lot of it.

I HAS A SAUSAGE MACHINE

-- aldo, Thursday, 30 August 2007 16:40 (Yesterday) Bookmark Link

C'mon people - in amongst yout lettuce conversation, aldo GOT A SAUSAGE MACHINE. Surely this is exciting enough for some comment? Accent, think how good home made sausages and rough cider will be at ATP next year! Think of the delights of experimental sausages like apricot and salami, or something!

Sausages - God's own food and one of the only ones not made better by putting it in a pie.

Guilty_Boksen, Friday, 31 August 2007 14:03 (sixteen years ago) link

not made better by putting it in a pie

HERESY

Plus Toad In The Hole falls within rules of pie.

aldo, Friday, 31 August 2007 14:07 (sixteen years ago) link

mmm but sausage in a good stew mmm

darraghmac, Friday, 31 August 2007 14:08 (sixteen years ago) link

We could make them with wee apple bits in them to complement the rough cider. Or we could get drunk and burn the sausages.

onimo, Friday, 31 August 2007 14:08 (sixteen years ago) link

I'm hoping the wee woman that comes in to clear up cooks them for us.

aldo, Friday, 31 August 2007 14:15 (sixteen years ago) link

Without wishing to dredge up this old argument, if Toad in the Hole is a pie why isn't a sausage in casing a pie anyway?

Guilty_Boksen, Friday, 31 August 2007 14:18 (sixteen years ago) link

xposr, obviously.

Guilty_Boksen, Friday, 31 August 2007 14:19 (sixteen years ago) link

or xpost even.

Guilty_Boksen, Friday, 31 August 2007 14:19 (sixteen years ago) link

xxxpost Or if we get really drunk we could just bite the ends off and suck out the fillings instead of cooking them.

Or cook them sober and eat them cold, which is probably a better idea.

Guilty_Boksen, Friday, 31 August 2007 14:21 (sixteen years ago) link

YOU HAVE BEEN FOR A LUNCHTIME PINT AICM£5.

aldo, Friday, 31 August 2007 14:26 (sixteen years ago) link

Actually, I haven't. I'm just shit and bored.

Guilty_Boksen, Friday, 31 August 2007 14:28 (sixteen years ago) link

Walking the dog on a beach, in the moonlight, while drunk sounds like heaven.

Lime is supreme on seafood and also most forms of chicken.

This class is just terrible. I can't keep my mind from thinking about what work stuff I need to do today during the "lecture" argh.

Also I can't do the homework in one night as evidenced yesterday.

I'm alone in the office today. Stereo up!

Ms Misery, Friday, 31 August 2007 14:29 (sixteen years ago) link

Cowboy up, stereo up.

We could make them with wee apple bits in them to complement the rough cider. Or we could get drunk and burn the sausages.

This sounds like some kind of GENIUS. I will see no bands at all at ATP next year, I think. Just sit in your chalet and SCOFF SOSSIES.

accentmonkey, Friday, 31 August 2007 14:30 (sixteen years ago) link

Speaking of ATP, teh_kit friended me on teh_fasebuk! His picture there is adorable.

accentmonkey, Friday, 31 August 2007 14:34 (sixteen years ago) link

And, not speaking of ATP, the Middle East journal that looked like it was going to be really difficult actually turned out to have one-line abstracts. Wheeeeeee, that's 12 abstracts done in three minutes and an early dart for our heroine. Look out goldfish, your tank's getting cleaned this afternoon.

accentmonkey, Friday, 31 August 2007 14:36 (sixteen years ago) link

So fed up. I've been starting at 7am all week (getting up at "shit the bed time" as aldo would say) and I'm officially beat. I was attempting some e-training modules this morning and my brain hit saturation point. My hand refused to keep taking notes and instead started drawing eyeballs*.

This afternoon I have spent over an hour pressing F5 every 5 seconds on the BBC transfer deadline page and a Celtic news blog.

* I read somewhere that drawing eyes is a signifier of possible schizophrenia and worry when I start doing it so much

onimo, Friday, 31 August 2007 14:36 (sixteen years ago) link

At least you weren't drawing dicks like that kid in Superbad.

I want to be kit's facebook friend. :(

Ms Misery, Friday, 31 August 2007 14:43 (sixteen years ago) link

I do love a chicken and apple sausage.

Beth Parker, Friday, 31 August 2007 14:43 (sixteen years ago) link

Onimo, do you have to start at 7am all next week too? Sounds awful. Especially if it's bringing out your psychosis.

Ms. M, he's right there, you can befriend him too!

Beth, mmmm, sossies.

accentmonkey, Friday, 31 August 2007 14:44 (sixteen years ago) link

xxxpost I've been doing the same on the BBC transfer page.

And nothing is happening apart from the possibility of Steven Naismith going to Celtic, which may be interesting for you but isn't particularly for me.

If you going to draw eyeballs you may as well be good at it:

Guilty_Boksen, Friday, 31 August 2007 14:48 (sixteen years ago) link

Isn't it great when you get that uplifting feeling when a great track you weren't expecting comes on your MP3 player? In this case White Town and Your Woman.

I am mentally singing along and actually grinning like a looney.

Guilty_Boksen, Friday, 31 August 2007 14:51 (sixteen years ago) link

I don't have to start at 7, I have been choosing to do so for the benefit of my flexi-time but I think I've done too many hours and my body is rejecting work :)

I wants sausages.

I don't have facebook. I don't think I need anything else to occupy my wasted time.

Thanks for eyeball tutorial GB - mine have all been a bit cartoonish compared with that. I've looked back through my notes and there's as many squiggly signatures as eyes. Is that a good sign?

onimo, Friday, 31 August 2007 14:54 (sixteen years ago) link

I really only go on fbook for scrabble these days and that's usually just once a day b/c I'm busy. I'll probably hit it more tonight with a few beers. Always a good time to play word games.

Ms Misery, Friday, 31 August 2007 14:57 (sixteen years ago) link

"WAHT! Of course cnutface is areel wurd! FCUK YUO!"

accentmonkey, Friday, 31 August 2007 14:59 (sixteen years ago) link

I've looked back through my notes and there's as many squiggly signatures as eyes. Is that a good sign?

If the eyeballs start floating up from the page and circling around your head, cawing like crows, that's definitely a sign that you need to have a long lie down. That's as far as my art therapy training ever went.

accentmonkey, Friday, 31 August 2007 15:01 (sixteen years ago) link

good morning. i just gt a fabulous haircut. regular stylist, finally - i've been seeing her for like a year now and she's God.

swordfish was great (why is it fucking easy to cook?), thanks for the support yesterday!

SUCH A NICE GRAY DAY

Surmounter, Friday, 31 August 2007 16:01 (sixteen years ago) link

Usually I get more work done when I'm by myself in the office. But I'm so anxious for the three day weekend to begin that everything is essentially a wash. :(

Ms Misery, Friday, 31 August 2007 16:07 (sixteen years ago) link

OK GUYS BIG NEWS: I finally have an Internet connection at work! Now I can internet during the day instead of waiting til night when the kids are asleep and everyone of the ROXOR persuasion is off doing fun things and sleeping.

Maria :D, Friday, 31 August 2007 16:25 (sixteen years ago) link

wow that is big! congratulations

Surmounter, Friday, 31 August 2007 16:54 (sixteen years ago) link

Wow, where do you work Maria? Wherever it is I'm sure it used to be a very productive workplace. ;)

Ms Misery, Friday, 31 August 2007 16:57 (sixteen years ago) link

haha ya

Surmounter, Friday, 31 August 2007 17:31 (sixteen years ago) link

swordfish was great (why is it fucking easy to cook?), thanks for the support yesterday!

I will expect to see my share of the swordfish in the post.

=)

Surmounter, Friday, 31 August 2007 18:12 (sixteen years ago) link

I work for myself, by myself, with myself in my own office. I've got a killer boss. And yes our office will now be less productive.

Maria :D, Friday, 31 August 2007 23:58 (sixteen years ago) link

haha, congrats!

It's crazy ass wind and pouring rain here. Chappelle's on. I just finished a steak and am getting my drink on. Goddamn do I love Fridays.

Ms Misery, Saturday, 1 September 2007 01:13 (sixteen years ago) link

mhmm. i just had some steak too, and am hoping for a good drink by the end of the night. i don't know how this will happen yet.

Surmounter, Saturday, 1 September 2007 02:31 (sixteen years ago) link

i feel i've been drinking 2 much liquor. i could really go for some wine actually. i should seize the sentiment considering i'm not always up for wine.

Surmounter, Saturday, 1 September 2007 02:56 (sixteen years ago) link

Ugh, the rain. Way to start the holiday weekend! Two and a half hour rain delay at the ball game, lightening shorts out the main scoreboard. They have the fireworks before it starts to keep the natives from getting too restless. The team could barely put together two runs, and the first hit by the opponents is a home run. Sat in a section with a lot of Korean fans because Chan Ho Park was pitching. He managed to get nine strikeouts, but with no support from his team it was a wash.

Best moment of the game: Park gets caught in a rundown on his way to first. He starts running toward home and tags, evenb though this won't do him a damn bit of good. The first baseman turns around to head back to the bag and Chan Ho starts up the baseline again! We got a big laugh from it, though his expression never changed at all.

Translation for non-baseball fans: a lovely night out with perfect weather after a horrendous storm, home waaaay later than planned.

patita, Saturday, 1 September 2007 06:05 (sixteen years ago) link

That sounds like a suckass night out.

Mister M and I are going into Dublin today to the cinema and out to dinner. Tomorrow is our wedding anniversary.

accentmonkey, Saturday, 1 September 2007 07:36 (sixteen years ago) link

Maria, we'll hold a benefit for you because of your Internet-related lost wages. It's no different than having a kid with cancer.

Beth Parker, Saturday, 1 September 2007 14:21 (sixteen years ago) link

Happy Anniversary!
