strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Monday, 6 March 2006 15:42 (8 years ago) Permalink

I know it's corny to say it sounds great when you're high but it sounds great when you're high.

PAUL HAGGIS, EMOTIONAL TERRORIST (nordicskilla), Monday, 6 March 2006 16:23 (8 years ago) Permalink

it does!

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Monday, 6 March 2006 16:29 (8 years ago) Permalink

considering my complete 180 on this thread topic i am really worried about the album

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Monday, 6 March 2006 16:30 (8 years ago) Permalink

Is there actually an album? when?

Adamrl (nordicskilla), Monday, 6 March 2006 16:36 (8 years ago) Permalink

whatever it is that Jaxon gave me is awesome - easily one of my favorite new things of the last few years.

Shakey Mo Collier (Shakey Mo Collier), Monday, 6 March 2006 17:53 (8 years ago) Permalink

i think prince was listening to sa ra in the studio when making 3121

how retardely backwards is that?

team jaxon (jaxon), Monday, 6 March 2006 17:57 (8 years ago) Permalink

ah he's always fairly up on new r&b folks (albeit not always with the best judgment - ex: Tevin Campbell)

Shakey Mo Collier (Shakey Mo Collier), Monday, 6 March 2006 18:50 (8 years ago) Permalink

well i found his myspace tryna hear the e40 single and i kinda liked that keyshia cole rmx on there fine enough! since i never liked sa-ra one bit (like hold on ummm so everyone smirking at neo-soul/broken beat in the 00s ws just waiting for a click of farnsworth bentleys to show up and validate their lives 5 years later?) (and i never liked keyshia cole either, she's a dick!) i wondered if ppl were up on this guy too

the e40 rmx on there is aight as well considering

rtcotm (mwah), Monday, 6 March 2006 19:11 (8 years ago) Permalink

I was never down on neo-soul!

Adamrl (nordicskilla), Monday, 6 March 2006 19:14 (8 years ago) Permalink

and lol @ e 4ever waiting to pounce

rtcotm (mwah), Monday, 6 March 2006 19:15 (8 years ago) Permalink

rtcotm (mwah), Monday, 6 March 2006 19:17 (8 years ago) Permalink

shouldnt you be getting a $200 haircut somewhere

,,,,,,,,,,,, Monday, 6 March 2006 19:20 (8 years ago) Permalink

This is what I am listening to as we speak

Adamrl (nordicskilla), Monday, 6 March 2006 19:22 (8 years ago) Permalink

shouldnt you be getting a $200 haircut somewhere

Haha! Is this meant for me? I'd be lucky to afford a pack of gum the way my finances are right now.

Adamrl (nordicskilla), Monday, 6 March 2006 19:25 (8 years ago) Permalink

,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Monday, 6 March 2006 19:30 (8 years ago) Permalink

lol probably... i dunno what ur expecting me to say, "call me a male model again and i'll fucking kill you"? i mean ur info is somewhat dated but i guess that's no surprise

rtcotm (mwah), Monday, 6 March 2006 19:33 (8 years ago) Permalink

take it outside, ladies

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Monday, 6 March 2006 19:35 (8 years ago) Permalink

oh, I see. Never mind.

xp

Adamrl (nordicskilla), Monday, 6 March 2006 19:36 (8 years ago) Permalink

trackademicks dude is cool, but honestly kinda boring. there's just no surprise. there's really no comparing him and sa ra though.

i did like the e40 beat better than the original.

team jaxon (jaxon), Monday, 6 March 2006 19:37 (8 years ago) Permalink

ah ok well i can't say i heard a full sa-ra tape anyway but what i heard the few times they came on radio was fairly offensive tbh

there's that myspace, http://www.myspace.com/trackademicks i'm out

rtcotm (mwah), Monday, 6 March 2006 19:40 (8 years ago) Permalink

Hailing from Alameda, an island located off the coast of Oakland, CA, Trackademicks makes music driven by the same philosophy that made him; mix it up. Born to a Filipino father from the Bay Area and a Black mother from Richmond, VA, his cultural diversity inherently translates itself into the music. “Like California Cuisine, I take ingredients and influences from all over to add to our local tastes and create something appealing to everyone.”

So he's like the Alice Waters of 2006 R&B?

Adamrl (nordicskilla), Monday, 6 March 2006 19:44 (8 years ago) Permalink

Only if relys on fresh locally grown samplers and mixing desks.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Monday, 6 March 2006 19:47 (8 years ago) Permalink

sa ra is greatness, but it's what i call "fancy trainer" music. like all that benji-b-ified stuff, it requires serious glad rags. you've gotta fancy yourself up to listen to it...i love it, but i don't have the cash to buy the lifestyle.

cybele (cybele), Monday, 6 March 2006 19:56 (8 years ago) Permalink

oh, and i second the love for ppp and up you an omar. new record's coming out soon...i'm very very excited.

jaxon likes it!

Adamrl (nordicskilla), Monday, 6 March 2006 20:02 (8 years ago) Permalink

is jaxon fancy?

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Monday, 6 March 2006 20:03 (8 years ago) Permalink

i dress like a hobo fwiw

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Monday, 6 March 2006 20:03 (8 years ago) Permalink

me too

it's sad when you realize you don't even have the budget to look indie ! (you know, if you actually wanted to).

Adamrl (nordicskilla), Monday, 6 March 2006 20:04 (8 years ago) Permalink

Jaxon strikes me as someone who has one or two pairs of fancy trainers in his industrial living space.

Adamrl (nordicskilla), Monday, 6 March 2006 20:05 (8 years ago) Permalink

Of course I shouldn't presume.

Adamrl (nordicskilla), Monday, 6 March 2006 20:05 (8 years ago) Permalink

i bought a new pair of sneakers the other day and i felt like a rich man indeed

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Monday, 6 March 2006 20:06 (8 years ago) Permalink

The sneakers I wear on any given day are worth more than everything else I'm wearing combined (even when I layer up). It has been this way since I was nine or so.

Andy_K (Andy_K), Monday, 6 March 2006 20:07 (8 years ago) Permalink

This thread is going weird.

Adamrl (nordicskilla), Monday, 6 March 2006 20:07 (8 years ago) Permalink

Like today, for instance:

Costco shirt bought by wife (gray-like): $10
Calvin Klein jeans bought at Nordstrom Rack (blue): $15
Champion boxer briefs (white): $5
Socks (black): $5
Somewhat-fancy Italian "lifestyle" shoes (black and blue): $80 (I think)

x-post

Andy_K (Andy_K), Monday, 6 March 2006 20:10 (8 years ago) Permalink

If Sa-Ra go to Costco, it's p'bly to buy big vats of maple syrup in which to dunk their stripper friends.

Andy_K (Andy_K), Monday, 6 March 2006 20:12 (8 years ago) Permalink

And maybe some CDRs (CDR-ahs).

Andy_K (Andy_K), Monday, 6 March 2006 20:13 (8 years ago) Permalink

Adam you do not dress like a hobo. Hobos don't shop at H&M.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Monday, 6 March 2006 20:16 (8 years ago) Permalink

THEY DON'T?

;)

Adamrl (nordicskilla), Monday, 6 March 2006 20:19 (8 years ago) Permalink

hey--i'm in the market for some new fancy triners. my kangaroos are way to 2004.

cybele (cybele), Wednesday, 8 March 2006 17:32 (8 years ago) Permalink

i've been known to wear some fancy trainers and expensive jeans while driving around in my suv that i park in my downtown loft

team jaxon (jaxon), Wednesday, 8 March 2006 17:34 (8 years ago) Permalink

unfortunately that's all true

team jaxon (jaxon), Wednesday, 8 March 2006 17:34 (8 years ago) Permalink

oh, and one more thing. SA RA IS NOT NEO-SOUL!!

team jaxon (jaxon), Wednesday, 8 March 2006 17:35 (8 years ago) Permalink

yeah I don't hear that either.

Shakey Mo Collier (Shakey Mo Collier), Wednesday, 8 March 2006 17:37 (8 years ago) Permalink

yeah, but they hang with those folks...and folks who luv the neo-soul tend to like'em...

cybele (cybele), Wednesday, 8 March 2006 18:04 (8 years ago) Permalink

all slsk folders containing sa-ra tend to confirm this
