Most of that scene makes sense eventually if you give it enough thought but then you ask yourself why you're working so hard to justify tits on HBO.

I actually didn't get what was happening - the poison kicking in seemed to correspond to her flashing her downstairs to Bronn (or at least the camera was heading that way, and cut to Bronn checking it out).

Yeah I think we were supposed to infer that he was intoxicated by her boobies at first, before the poison reveal.

i felt this show hasn't been objectifying enough so far so it was good that we had a shot from the actual perspective of the guy checking out boobies for some reason

when Bronn started swooning, the first thing that popped into my head was "she must have thighs like what, what, what"

I assumed / hoped that it was some kind of poison that only kicked in when men became aroused. That would be awesome fun.

I thought it was pretty obvious that she was purposely getting the poison to take effect quicker by increasing his blood flow. That didn't occur to anyone else here? Or am I wrong in the "that's not how bodies work, dude" category?

It would have been really clever for them to have revealed that Lancel was part of the faith militant/sparrow in that scene to both Cercei and the audience. It would have been a more shocking scene and have made more sense for Cersei to have gone through with it, since she wouldn't have prepared for someone she knew intimately to be a part of it.

have him reintroduced as a fanatic, in a scene where he says some really off-putting philosophical stuff that makes cercei question herself. basically the scene he was in earlier this season, but without the sparrow reveal.

Yeah I was thinking along the same lines as Evan especially given how she kept asking how his arm was. He wouldn't have believed her and taken the antidote if he wasn't already feeling the symptoms.

All I'm saying is that it would be plenty foolish of her to give power to the faith militant given her history alone, but to have her do that when she knows Lancel is a key guy there and they have a direct history of incest themselves is maybe just a tad too idiotic for her? Plus revealing Lancel is a sparrow in that scene would have been an exhilarating development and the entire "will this plan backfire for her?" question would have been more up in the air than completely obvious for viewers.

yes definitely it was obvious the plan wld backfire the whole time which was the point, it may have not come with as stunning of a reveal but it was a better story

i'm a bit confused as to how long these sparrows have been going for, and how big their number is? Like 5 episodes ago they were just this Jedi-style cult and now they're able to imprison half the royal family...?

Well to avoid that effect the audience could know he was sparrow before she did.

Long story short, I just felt like the risks were overly blatant, and the show had been doing a good job at keeping things up in the air otherwise (example: parallel scene where Theon/Reek has the candle and approaches the tower. Is he going to do it or not?).
