Modern bands that mix Krautrock/motorik with Hawkwind-style psychedelia

someone needs to re-release that Cave CD
There is a lot of upcoming Cave (lp on Important and various 7"s). The band has moved on from the Hunt Like Devil phase. More synths and such.
I play with Cave when I get the chance, but I'm an auxiliary member of the band now.

Thanks for the info, Trip Maker, I'll keep my eyes out. I was really sucked in by what i heard from Hunt Like Devil. I don't think I've ever been so frustrated trying to hunt down a release. There needs to be a Beatport for obscure rock groups.

You are aware that members of Hawkwind were also in Amon Duul, right? Warrior On The Edge of Time is totally kraut-y.

Looks like Cloudland Canyon was already mentioned. But I find that there seems to be an endless supply of original Krautrock to discover. If you've heard more than a couple hundred albums, then you should be treating us to a listening guide!

Endless Boogie finally clicked with me a few months ago, big time. Still love Audionom. Dark Meat's latest, Truce Opium is in this vein, and good, but not as good as their less-hypnojamming first record.

I've been dubious about Endless Boogie but I'm gonna make the plunge.

some stuff on the 1st mammatus rec that leans in this direction, though generally more hawkwind-aligned.

Oh yeah, GONG sometimes have that motorik/drone thing going. So much dross to sort through to get to the nuggets, though!

I might like them more than Circle, even. 1st record is good & I'm not sure what I think of new one but it has a great sound for sure, a lot of alternating spacey & heavy repetitive... trensmat 7" is awesome & collected on label CD comp

new Cave sounds good on 1st listen, they mellowed out some.

noone mentioned La Otracina, White Hills, or Burnt Hills in this thread... former might be too proggy to qualify. (xpost)

Mugstar have had quite the banner year! Both ...Sun, Broken... and Lime are spectacular. Just cranked the latter at ear-splitting levels and drifted right out of my head. Wonderful.

Has anyone heard this yet?

i've heard songs from it that were released earlier in EPs. "lord of light" is pretty dope

Saw Kinski do "Masters of the Universe" with Kawabata on guitar two years back at Terrastock 7. Mind-melting doesn't begin to cover it.
