like, this came two days after a cheating scandal, plus the cited reason is "stress" which is celebrity pr-speak for drugs, booze, etc. I'm all for taking fans seriously but at some point feet have to hit earth again

my (baseless) theory is that he's been trying to get out since shortly after the beginning but wasn't able to until he breached a morality clause in his contract w/the cheating scandal

i don't think there was any morality clause lol - he's already cheated on perrie publicly before so this is nothing out of the ordinary - but he's clearly hated the whole experience for sometime and was recording with naughty boy solo a few months back, so he probably just used the uproar to cite stress and get out now.

although there's already a broad consensus within the directioner stanbase that their management keeps them in loveless closeted relationships so this could feed into those theories.

which of the Directioners would Zayn have been boinking on the sly?

yeah, i get it. i was excited when one of them said that the new record has fleetwood mac vibes, but this single it's completely different from what i expected/wanted. but, as isabel cole wrote, "every time i listen to these assholes for the first time in a while i remember how harry’s voice goes straight to my groin", i can't change that, even when i don't enjoy the songs so much as i wanted.
