I've been listening to this record nonstop the past few weeks. Really love the lyrics, though I'm still scratching my head at the "Maltesian Riot" part of "On the Way".

OK, I kept listening and my feeling is that this is the most poorly sequenced record I've heard in a long time. Switching sides A and B helps a little, but so many good songs are buried in the traditional 'album filler' slots

Hadn't really noticed this. But I can kinda write off the bad sequencing as part of the album's scruffy charm.

The front 3 and last 2 songs are sticking for me, whereas the middle of the album blends into one slightly plodding dirge.
Mildly disappointed with this so far. Love 'So', though, which sounds like a lost Keep It Like a Secret track.
