you spend too much time in stores, and there's a recession going on, for god's sake

the chorus to "John Wayne Is Big Leggy" has been stuck in my head for days, but that's not a terrible song, I don't think.

what kind of store plays "Under the Bridge"?

bigstatusbrothers (unregistered), Monday, 23 March 2009 01:06 (fifteen years ago) link

like stores that play shitty 90s radio stations?

HHooHHHooHH-oob (harbl), Monday, 23 March 2009 01:09 (fifteen years ago) link

also the other day it was a eurythmics song and my brain was singing "here comes the rain again falling on my head like a memory." lol :(

HHooHHHooHH-oob (harbl), Monday, 23 March 2009 01:11 (fifteen years ago) link

just realizing now that I have more tolerance for shitty '80s music than I do for equally shitty '90s music. that Eurythmics song = ♥ for me, probably because I wasn't sentient back when it was an overplayed hit

last night I dreamt that I came home from a hike in the woods, went to bed, and woke up covered in ticks from head to toe. overnight they'd managed to burrow deep within my skin, and they appeared as faint black marks all over my body. when I tried to grab one of the ticks with a pair of tweezers, it darted across my arm without surfacing. I went after a few more of them, but the same thing happened again and again. finally I gave up and headed to the doctor's office. on the way there, a few of the ticks jumped off my body onto the crowded street. I chased them with a pocket knife and cut them into little pieces, because I didn't want them to infect other people. the dream ended soon after I got to the doctor's office. the doctor had already begun working on me, and he seemed like he knew what he was doing.

i told my psychiatrist about an embarrassing dream I had. I was in a bathroom where the stall doors were short, so everyone could see eachothers' face while they took a crap. and it was a co-ed bathroom of my peers. I ended up crapping so much that I couldn't stop crapping. I think I ran into the stall next to me and overflew that toilet as well until finally the dream ended in an embarrassing mess.

I told my psychiatrist that bathroom dreams are usually signs that you are seeking relief in your everyday life from stress or whatever (freud would say sexual satisfaction lol). she asked me how I could have fixed the situation in my dream. I said, "I probably could of not crapped so much". But then she reminded me of the stall walls and came up with an idea that maybe i just need to put walls between me and people and block out their mean words - which would go along with my social anxiety.

thoughts? :p

After the appointment I went home and took a nap. During my nap, I dreamt that I was in a locker room walking to the urinals... umm message me if you want more. for $2.99 a month I can keep you up to date on every single dirty bathroom dream I have!

I dreamt that I was walking down a sidewalk in some generic city. three (college?) girls were walking about a quarter of a block ahead of me, all of them sporting fancy, expensive-looking dresses and elaborate hairdos.

pretty soon they stopped in a parking lot and just stood there. I joined up with them and started to chat. they were French & were also v v obnoxious: they couldn't stop talking about how wonderful and pricey their clothes and jewellery were. I couldn't stand them.

at the far end of the parking lot was a ladies' clothing store. I led the girls toward it, hoping to ditch them as soon as they got inside. the store was closed (it was very early in the morning), but when I knocked on the door, a kindly old lady answered it.

at that moment, the girls transformed into life-sized wax dummies. apparently they assumed dummy form whenever they were in the presence of people other than me. the shopkeeper got really excited because she thought I was delivering a shipment of brand new mannequins. I helped her carry the dummies inside, and together we stood them up beside the dress displays. pleased to have gotten rid of those nasty girls, I left the store and went about my business.

when I came back later that day (via time warp), the dummies were still in place, and the store was teeming with customers. I hung the dummies on tall clothing racks so that their feet were suspended a few feet above the floor, knowing that they'd be furious and disoriented when they turned back into humans.

in the admin menu there's a funny thing. here's part of it:

Ban Pattern

This is a sophisticated banning mechanism. Please be aware of what you are doing with it, as it gives you the ability to ban a range of users....If you don't know how to use regular expressions (Java regular expressions, which differ from Perl 5), then turn back now! You could wind up banning a country!

i dreamt i was like crazy obsessive about the part in my hair cuz it was goin all over

goaty (harbl), Sunday, 5 April 2009 15:42 (fifteen years ago) link

it means that your life feels like a "bad hair day" and it is out of your control to fix it no matter how much you wanted to.
as you life as a broad term here. it could be just you or it could be you and everything you deal with day to day.

guys i have a recurring theme in my dreams related to my teeth. a lot of times (in my dreams) a tooth will fall out, but last night i dreamed that i fell and chipped one of my front teeth. what does this mean?

prostitutes all over the place (k3vin k.), Monday, 6 April 2009 04:21 (fifteen years ago) link

i would like to know as well, in my teeth dreams they all fall out and I spit them out one at a time.
i think it means that you feel like you don't have control over your own life.

CaptainLorax, Monday, 6 April 2009 04:34 (fifteen years ago) link

last night i dreamed that i fell and chipped one of my front teeth. what does this mean?

of all your teeth, your front teeth are of course the ones that are most visible to the people around you. a chipped front tooth, then, might indicate that you're anxious about the way other people perceive and judge you. you fear that you have a glaringly obvious personality flaw, or maybe you've suffered a sudden and serious blow to your reputation. either way, you consider yourself incapable of hiding or rectifying the problem on your own. the only way to repair a chipped tooth is to see a dentist, so maybe you need to work out your issues with a skilled mentor, whether it be a friend or a counselor or a swami or what have you.

i dreamt i was like crazy obsessive about the part in my hair cuz it was goin all over

the whole point of parting your hair is to divide it into two orderly, distinct sections (duh). so trying and failing to keep your hair parted is a sign that you have trouble keeping all the pieces of your life in their proper places. maybe you strive to keep your personal life and working life separate from each other, and you're freaking out because they're starting to overlap in unpleasant ways. you feel overwhelmed because you're playing two (or more) different roles at once, and it can be hard to stay in character day in and day out. your life is too neat, too structured, too compartmentalized, and it's perfectly healthy for things to get a little mussed up from time to time.

also, lots and lots of hairspray.

Dreamed last night about a spinoff of The Wire that centered around a female sniper. She was an expert sniper but unfortunately she was also a werewolf, a male werewolf in fact, and when she began to change he/she would be much less effective because he/she would start to sympathize with the hunted party.
