my old dentist retired last year & a young new dentist renamed the practice & took over the clientele.

old dentist had a yelp page with maybe four reviews, but all glowing five star reviews because he was the best.

new dude has taken over the yelp page & kept the reviews! i already dislike new dentist & this just makes me like him even less

Hi its electricbob
This is a good McDonald's compared to north Ave or greenmount.I've never seen anyone nodding off and the food usually comes out correct and at least Luke warm.being open late and really fast is cool.its cool to tell em a joke because they probably are having a harder day. Sometime I give them a beer or a hit of a joint.

I actually feel kind of guilty now about how inhuman my interactions with mcdonald's workers tend to be the rare times I go to mcdonald's. OTOH I always feel this pressure not to chat with them because they seem to feel pressure to be fast.

walid foster dulles (man alive), Saturday, 10 January 2015 03:18 (nine years ago) link

I worked at McDo for over a year when I was teenager. trust me we did not care about chatting

one month passes...

Considering this is a luxury brand I would expect a better level of service when spending thousands of dollars on a bag. I felt rushed when making my decision to just pick a bag instead of letting me browse. I was not asked what I was looking for, or what I would be using the bag for in order to show me my best options. Unfortunately there is only one Louis Vuitton here in Baltimore, so I am stuck shopping her until I move.

someone is holding a gun to my head, forcing me to shop at the louis vuitton store where no one asks me what i'm looking for

Imagine your favorite grocery store. Now imagine that store painted the colors of a Mexican blanket, blaring Mariachi music over the loudspeaker and the smell of barbeque chicken cooking in the parking lot. You can get a taco. You can get a churro. You can get a 3 pack of Modelo tallboys (Never have I ever seen such an item!). All that for a price that's poquito.

It's the little things. This grocery store is clean. The quality of items is excellent and the selection is as big as the Yucatan peninsula.

Annie G. brought me here recently because she's quite literally obsessed with MP. My favorite memory is being in line at the check out, hearing a muffled announcement in Spanish over the store PA and then having the cashiers cheer and shake tin cans with Mexican beans in them. They were celebrating something. What it was, I'm not sure.

What I am sure of is that this is a great grocery store.

bamcquern, Monday, 16 February 2015 02:16 (nine years ago) link

Tbh I want to go to that grocery store now.

Sometimes I wonder what I'm doing with my life. And then I go to the Planned Parenthood in the Eastmont Mall and realize I'm doing ok.

These are the things I saw while I was getting medical treatment for a UTI:
1) A gay, potentially homeless man walked in and rudely asked for some condoms. He was on his cell phone and eating Cup Noodles.
2) The girl sitting next to me was on her cell phone and talking about how she needed emergency contraception because she got, "soooo fucked up last night!" It was a Tuesday morning.
3) My consultation with the nurse got interrupted because the Oakland Police Department needed to talk to her about the homicide of a girl that had recently been a patient.

Kind of a daunting experience for a Tuesday morning before work. But it was nice to feel like I was getting mental gold stars from the nurse when I told him that I've never given birth or been pregnant. It's sometimes nice to have a false sense of hope for oneself.

go back to Utah

I need to not look at Yelp ever. You can't help but violate the number one internet rule "don't look at the comments."

bamcquern, Monday, 16 February 2015 03:01 (nine years ago) link

You miss so much of humanity if you don't read the comments. Don't deny yourself.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 December 2012

A Chinese restaurant would not normally be a place where I would eat. I did that in the 1970’s. However, I was taken here by somebody who likes Chinese food.
