they only make slurping noises if you leave the end cap on. my only beef with it is that it needs a ton of lube and it's hard to lube it up deep enough (again not bragging).

also if the whole hook is that it's supposed to be mistaken for a flashlight would it have been so hard to put a phony on/off switch on it somewhere.
