No one has solved this mystery yet! Definitely not delusional -- heard it for the first time in 1987 (maybe '88?) at teen dance party in a community center.

Let me clarify that when I say "I heard it," I don't mean "I heard it one time," I mean "it was the customary and accepted thing to do when they played that song at a party during its period of popularity."

I had to youtube this just to figure out how this worked. Never heard it! But yeah its reminiscent of what we have in Aus with the Angels and the "no way, get fucked, fuck off" thing.
