it should not have been surprising that a technological hobby had a ton of conservatives in it and reacted very badly to feminism

what i'm trying to describe tho, is the constant churn of comments from twitterers who are (or pretend to be) surprised that "conservatism" is even being discussed, like the position of AEI, breitbart, that baldwin dude and the MRA/antifeminist scene is totally opaque to them, or they've never paid any attn to actual adult politics until gamergate put it in front of them.
