cut

Pfunkboy in blood drenched rabbit suit jamming in the woods (Herman G. Neuname), Saturday, 14 March 2009 23:29 (fifteen years ago) link

but he sounds as though he was hammering him anyway so it doesnt matter really. Khan haters (there's loads on 606) will still say how Barrera was past it etc

It doesnt matter if you dont have a chin if you dont get it

Pfunkboy in blood drenched rabbit suit jamming in the woods (Herman G. Neuname), Saturday, 14 March 2009 23:31 (fifteen years ago) link

Actually its gone to a technical decision on points

Pfunkboy in blood drenched rabbit suit jamming in the woods (Herman G. Neuname), Saturday, 14 March 2009 23:31 (fifteen years ago) link

and khan wins all 4 completed rounds

Pfunkboy in blood drenched rabbit suit jamming in the woods (Herman G. Neuname), Saturday, 14 March 2009 23:32 (fifteen years ago) link

Barrera couldn't see because of the cut. I still think Khan would have won it though.

Despite dominating the fight against an old blind man he still hung his chin out for the left hook again. He makes for excellent viewing but I maintain his chin will be his undoing. When Willie Limond is flooring you with hooks you know you've got problems.

2341: Don King is claiming that the "head butt" from Khan in the first round is what cost Barrera the fight. But even before that Khan had Barrera rattled. I still think Khan would have done the job, perhaps the fight would have gone on a bit later though. Oh and replays show that the "head butt" was an accidental clash of heads.

Sounds like Froch could be about to lose his title here. Well done British TV companies for supporting him btw.

Eugenecist Levy (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 26 April 2009 02:31 (fifteen years ago) link

OMG He's stopped him in the 12th. AWESOME.

Eugenecist Levy (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 26 April 2009 02:34 (fifteen years ago) link

So that sounds like a terrible fight that we didn't deserve to watch, eh?

Eugenecist Levy (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 26 April 2009 02:34 (fifteen years ago) link

lol Froch's post-bout interview demeanour best described as "confident".

Eugenecist Levy (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 26 April 2009 02:42 (fifteen years ago) link

or as Duke Mackenzie just put it, "delusional".

Eugenecist Levy (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 26 April 2009 02:45 (fifteen years ago) link

knowing nothing about boxing, the dude who was destined to win got cuffed in the last round. This was exciting as fuck to the novice. He knew he was going to lose on points so he went buck-wild.

Suggesteban Cambiasso (jim), Sunday, 26 April 2009 03:48 (fifteen years ago) link

I had to listen to it on the radio cos our TV stations are shit but it sounded a great fight.

Eugenecist Levy (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 26 April 2009 03:55 (fifteen years ago) link

This was really awesome boxing. I've never seen the guy who owned the whole bout get his face put in in the last round. This was amazing.

Suggesteban Cambiasso (jim), Sunday, 26 April 2009 03:56 (fifteen years ago) link

Well I really mean the opposite. The guy who got owned the whole bout put the other man's face in.

Suggesteban Cambiasso (jim), Sunday, 26 April 2009 03:56 (fifteen years ago) link

Irony is Sky will be all over Hatton taking a right pummelling next week.

Eugenecist Levy (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 26 April 2009 03:58 (fifteen years ago) link

Pac-man in 6 I reckon.

Munter S Thompson (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 2 May 2009 23:39 (fifteen years ago) link

if it goes past the 6th hatton has no chance

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Saturday, 2 May 2009 23:58 (fifteen years ago) link

not paying to watch it,dont like PPV. we already subscribe to sky so wont pay them again an extra £15

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Saturday, 2 May 2009 23:59 (fifteen years ago) link

Nah me neither. Didn't want to go to a pub and I'm not stopping up to listen to the radio either, it's gonna be 5 o'clock time I reckon.

Munter S Thompson (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 3 May 2009 00:14 (fifteen years ago) link

yeah im not staying up.

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Sunday, 3 May 2009 00:20 (fifteen years ago) link

johnny crunch, Sunday, 3 May 2009 03:53 (fifteen years ago) link

i always assume most PPV fights will be a slaughter like that.

Caught couple mins of Tyson-Buster Douglas '90 tonight tho!

fuck you chelios (jeff), Sunday, 3 May 2009 08:12 (fifteen years ago) link

Haha I overestimated Ricky's chin by 4 rounds.

Munter S Thompson (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 3 May 2009 08:48 (fifteen years ago) link

Somebody predicted to me in six, and I thought no way, he can take that beating till the ninth at least.

james k polk, Sunday, 3 May 2009 08:55 (fifteen years ago) link

Well I know he went 10 with Mayweather but Pacquiao throws a lot more punches than Mayweather I think.

Munter S Thompson (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 3 May 2009 08:59 (fifteen years ago) link

I was thinking his chin would be better than De la Hoya's at this stage from age and size.

james k polk, Sunday, 3 May 2009 09:07 (fifteen years ago) link

Think he badly underestimated Pac's power too.

Munter S Thompson (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 3 May 2009 09:10 (fifteen years ago) link

Batsman (Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved), Monday, 4 May 2009 14:15 (fifteen years ago) link

I think Manny Pacquiao is an actual honest to goodness bad ass boxer, not just some dude that has collected some belts. It is too bad boxing is so screwed up they never let the good people fight.

I would have loved to see the dude fight back in the 80s when he would have been fighting guys like Sugar Ray Leonard, Tommy Hearns, Aaron Pryor, Wilfredo Benitz, Roberto Duran, etc.

Alexis Arguello RIP

William Bloody Swygart, Wednesday, 1 July 2009 19:49 (fourteen years ago) link

Man, I can remember listening to the Jim Watt vs Alexis Arguello fight on the radio.

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Wednesday, 1 July 2009 20:02 (fourteen years ago) link

And so apparently Arturo Gatti's been found dead from a head injury with the police treating it as suspicious...

Anyone watching the stuff on ITV4? Jon Thaxton is under some serious pressure in what I think is just meant to be a keep-busy fight here with Tom Glover...

Gertcha Armour (William Bloody Swygart), Saturday, 18 July 2009 19:49 (fourteen years ago) link

And he's dropped the decision! Crikey. Heck of a fight.
