lag∞n, Wednesday, 3 September 2014 14:42 (nine years ago) link

have to give drake credit he is excellent at recognizing good songs by new artists and vocalizing over then

lag∞n, Wednesday, 3 September 2014 14:43 (nine years ago) link

the first video says it has drake but it does not?

J Cole is a traditionally skilled rapper and a great diary writer. His kind of middlebrow presence and softserve beats really keep him from connecting with the "cool kid" demo, which is a shame

Also Mac Miller was barrrrrffffff when he was ayy solo cup fitted hat 2 da back but his new mixtape is like astro travelin white black elvis or somethin

Drake is a perfectly fine pop star with his moments of genius and rmde

the other seven get the full gas face

ok i'm gonna vote for big sean now

le goon (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 3 September 2014 15:16 (nine years ago) link

what are these artists highlights?

wale - ?
childish gambino - ?
big sean - dance (a$$), mercy & i actually kinda like him as a pop guest vocalist (see: miley) (but not ariana)
iggy azalea - murda bizness, fancy, work
oj da juiceman - ?
mac miller - none afaik
kid cudi - day n nite (crookers remix)
travis scott - ?
makonnen - only has one song afaik and it's trash
drake - best i ever had, the motto
kitty pryde - none afaik and i really wanted her to be at least somewhat decent
riff raff - none afaik
j cole - who dat, blow up

heh, a list where the easy three best are iggy azalea, big sean and j cole

lex pretend, Wednesday, 3 September 2014 15:30 (nine years ago) link

worst fans - drake

lex pretend, Wednesday, 3 September 2014 15:30 (nine years ago) link

Early fratpop Mac Miller > late OFGKTA-loving hanging out with TDE Mac Miller.

longneck, Wednesday, 3 September 2014 16:13 (nine years ago) link

Anyway, OJ DA JUICE is the only guy on the list that has regularly made me ecstatically happy so my vote goes to him.

longneck, Wednesday, 3 September 2014 16:16 (nine years ago) link

the other thread shd be unlocked imho

lag∞n, Wednesday, 3 September 2014 16:24 (nine years ago) link

I agree, let the goons sort it out

Agree with this. I actually liked the dopey little brother who just discovered your Souls of Mischief tapes vibe of Miller's early stuff. Now he's just the umpteenth dude not rapping well over zone-out music. The new direction really doesn't fit his persona or presence well at all

Evan R, Wednesday, 3 September 2014 16:33 (nine years ago) link

cruel just cruel man

lag∞n, Wednesday, 3 September 2014 16:53 (nine years ago) link

Voted Riff Raff, mainly cause of his twitter account.

voodoo chili, Wednesday, 3 September 2014 18:29 (nine years ago) link

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

rap steve gadd (D-40), Thursday, 11 September 2014 00:12 (nine years ago) link

Big Sean cuz "Guap" has brought me more enjoyment (in the pure sense) than any Drake song

+ "Marvin & Chardonnay." And Detroit is/was surprisingly nice

nova, Thursday, 11 September 2014 02:18 (nine years ago) link

no one really likes kitty pride tho right? probably just flopson troll votes from beyond the veil

FKATlovestoFU better (Spottie), Thursday, 11 September 2014 02:54 (nine years ago) link

far less objectionable than iggy azalea or mac miller or childish gambino(?!) or like half this list

katherine, Thursday, 11 September 2014 02:57 (nine years ago) link

idk iggy and mac have had at least a couple songs I've liked, can't say the same for KP tho

rap steve gadd (D-40), Thursday, 11 September 2014 03:26 (nine years ago) link

I f/w "Experimental" off Detroit heavy, also the dude on the last verse is mad lol

nova, Thursday, 11 September 2014 03:53 (nine years ago) link

I thought the Sean/Nicki "momma" song was funny at first but that faded quick iirc

actually tho Nicki still has some funny lines in there pretty sure

nova, Thursday, 11 September 2014 03:53 (nine years ago) link
