"Ground Zero," from 2:18 to the end, is the funniest 40 seconds of music I have heard since Anal Cunt's 311 imitation.― Andy K, Friday, March 6, 2009 9:20 AM (6 days ago) Bookmark Suggest Ban Permalink

is this being spun the way liz phair was spinning her "transformation", as an 'experiment' when it was really a calculated decision based on the need and desire for a hit?
Most bullshit post in this thread. Or maybe you haven't noticed that CC isn't exactly lacking for hits these days?

This could have been so good, but neither dude was working at 100%.
I hope this takes off and they do it again and do it right and its huge.

i kinda agree, but i feel like CC's voice is so shot that if he was gonna do a record like this he should've done it a long time ago. it could work with his restrained Temple Of The Dog-era vocal style, but not this terrible rasp.

Bits of this actually work but from the Mario Kart intro onwards it's very difficult not to burst out laughing. Especially the "rub up against me" bits, ewww old man put it away. Would have worked better as a mechanistic Led Zeppelin behemoth with twiddly Indian samples but they're kind of trying to play it straight Timberlake too much of the time.
Not including a Timba-style stop/start clattery bass-heavy version of Spoonman = colossal wasted opportunity.
