awesome series of the great NW gabbneb. There are lots of, er, Weiners in that part of the world; my dad's side of the family were among the original settlers of the Yakima valley. So many beautiful places, so little time. And while I've spent a lot of time in the SW (except for New Mexico) I can't bring myself to say it's as beautiful as the NW overall.

I especially like the first photo of Arizona. My sister says the view of the sky is amazing.

I like the photos of Sahale Arm, North Cascades; Glacier Peak and North Cascades; and Olympic National Park.

The red rocks around sedona (and even moreso in Oak Creek Canyon to the north) are very nice (tho not particularly outstanding), but their wildness is compromised by Sedona and its dud jeep-tour and crystal-worship culture.

I'd also add to that the cliched art culture, overpriced real estate, and invasionary spas. I'd rather go to the Badlands myself (or a bunch of places in Utah), but Sedona isn't ruined yet. The baby boomers might be able to accomplish that in the next couple of decades though.

there are places near sedona which aren't all jeep-touristy, new-agey, though. but if you really wanna get that type of landscape without the imprint of yuppy culture, go up north to s. utah.
